((I was waiting for you, Mim. I guess I'll go anyways.))

|Chris|23|Knight Captain|Relgia|Tag: Tristan, Fendrel, Eleanora|

Chris sprang into action when she heard Tristan scream. Galloping away from the other two siblings Chris made it to where Tristan was in a matter of moments. She looked around for what had caused the scream she frowned, seeing nothing. A moment later Chris came to the understanding that the scream had been one of frustration. She sighed letting her own frustration go before she dismounted at started walking back to Fendrel and Eleanora, not in the mood to deal with the middle prince. She'd send one of the soldiers she knew on the trail to tail the prince and make sure that no harm came to him.

Once she had the details worked out with a soldier she continued on to the other two. She had never enjoyed the company of the middle prince and now she would like it even less. The man had nearly ruined her break from the palace. Chris mounted her horse and galloped back to the other two with a scowl on her face. She was mumbling things such as how she wouldn't mind if a snake bit the prince. She knew that such a thing would be considered her fault but she was past the point of caring. She'd rather kiss a toad then have to protect the other prince.

Chris froze in the middle of trail. She dismounted and walked over to the edge of the trail before taking out her hunting knife from it's sheath and stabbing it into the tree. Chris hated when she had thoughts like this. They were not noble and went against everything Chris stood for. She may not like the second prince but she would do her duty by her oath as Knight Captain. Chris sighed, pulled the knife out of the tree and shoved it back into the sheath. She grabbed Adra's reins and led the horse back down the trail.

Fendrel remained wordless after that. He didn't even flinch when there was a sudden shout from his brother. A part of him wished the boy had been kicked off his horse. Would've taught him a thing or two about respect-- not that Fendrel had any right to preach on that matter given how he treated his father. He followed Chris with his eyes alone when she took off after the call. The Prince was not in such a hurry to run to the rescue of the foolish youth.

In the brief time he was alone with his sister, he spied her steady forward gaze from the corner of his eye and dropped his own gaze with something of shame. "Ele, I'm sorry. You know that I cannot stand his attitude. He needs to learn a thing or two about reality. Everything is handed to him and he takes that for granted. A harsh lesson is the most effective one." For that moment he had spoken gently with the demeanor of a scolded puppy.

He then watched the strange actions of the Knight who would drive their blade into the trunk of a tree then carried on their way. Fendrel cast Chris a questioning look when he returned. "Let him go." He repeated, though this time in that more delicate voice of his, "I will tell father that his disappearance is my fault. Your name will not so much as be mentioned." he assured the Knight. "The worst punishment I face is not comparable to that which you could face."

For a few moments Eleanora didn't acknowledge that her brother had spoken or reply to him. She knew it was childish, and that it wasn't proper for a princess to do so, but she didn't care. After a minute or two she slowly turned her head and looked up into the eyes of her brother. "I just wish that you'd sometimes get along," she said quietly. "I can't stand to see you two constantly fighting, and now he's run off, and the ball is tomorrow, and father will be furious that we didn't do anything to stop him." She moved her gaze down to the reins she was holding in her hands, saying nothing more.

Melo | 20 | prince of Ulea | w/Sibyl and Krea

Melo lifted the child onto his shoulders, who didn't react in the slightest to the jostling. Her breathing was slow and by now her entire body was completely limp. She was incredibly light, it felt like holding a doll, nothing but cloth and stuffing, though a little warmer. He leaned forward slightly to make sure she wouldn't fall off, her hands limp and unable to hold on. He nodded when she was settled. "Let's proceed."

He would be lying if he said he wasn't at least a bit surprised that Sibyl had let him carry her. The woman had pride, a deep-rooted kind that would not let such events like these happen so easily, especially with her consent. It worried him, even without the weight of the girl would she be able to make it? It wasn't exactly a long journey, they would arrive before sunset if they kept up the pace, but it certainly took longer to go up than it did to go down.

The three made their way slowly up the gently winding path, and were soon swallowed into the forest, the oaks and sycamores leaving a complex carpet of shadow on the stones. the birds called to one another, their long whistles haunting in the still air. An occasional rustle from the undergrowth made Melo glance around nervously, but it was only either squirrels or a bird taking flight.

Chris grinned her thanks, "I almost feel bad letting him go off," she said gruffly, "but there's a guard trailing him now and he's been trained to defend himself" she was explaining her actions to Eleanora, not wanting the princess to think her untrustworthy. Chris knew that she and Fendrel had the same opinion of the other prince. "Do you think we can make it to the pond?" She asked, preparing to mount Adra. She needed a distraction now and the pond had a calming effect on her.

Eleanora shrugged apologetically in answer to Chris's question. "I haven't left the castle grounds in ages, and even then it was for some official trip or another. I haven't been on any normal rides, so I don't know where the pond is," she said. She wasn't too upset by it, it was really her own fault that she had never left. Fendrel had snuck out plenty of times, he would have let her come if she had ever asked. She had just had the proper behavior instilled in her since a young age.

Fendrel couldn't deny the guilt he felt from Eleanora's words. He opened his mouth to stammer out another excuse, but caught himself before doing so. That's not what would make the situation better. Learning patience and how to disregard the snide remarks made by the younger male would. The Prince leveled his gaze and swallowed his words completely, only dipping his head in apology to his sister.

He cast his gaze towards the sky to get a judge if time. It was probably around two in the afternoon. He was ready to stay out passed nightfall, though wasn't eager to keep his sister alongside him for the dangers of the dark. However, if they picked up the pace they could probably make it there and back again before things got too hairy.

"I believe we'll be fine." He answered, urging his stallion to a bit of a faster pace and raising his voice to carry back to Chris when he passed her. "Try not to waste too much time," a grin, "And we should be perfectly fine. Ele can deal with missing supper, right?" He cast a look to his sister, knowing just how much of a stretch that was. Missing supper was making their departure obvious and would rouse quite an excitement. Sure, Fendrel had done so many times before, the little sister was the new factor.

✖✖✖ But the best of thieves couldn't take my love away. ✖✖✖
If Sibyl's body did not remain strong, her iron eyes did. She very seldom looked away from the Prince who carried her sister. She'd handed over the child with the understanding of her own less than ideal state. There was no real desire or steadfast trust present yet, though she could say she trusted this Prince more than a stranger, if only slightly.

The woods had always been unnerving. She had made the mistake of wandering into them one day as a child and didn't make it out without harm. Her father had run to the rescue and carried out the injured child. Sibyl had broken her leg after tripping while fleeing from what she thought were bandits. It could've easily been a rabbit in the bushes.

Nonetheless, the woman now held fast to her dagger, not bothering to hide it. The times her eyes did leave the male were the ones in which she cast a wary glance around at every small noise. Getting jumped would be less than ideal. She wasn't sure if she could defend herself in her current state, let alone a prince and a child.

"How often have you left the comforts of your castle?" She asked the Prince, both curious and wanting to fill the air. Silence would only put her further on edge and that always led to poor decisions.

Chris chuckled and nudge Adra into a trot, carefull not to leave Eleanora too far behind. She caught up to Fendrel quickly and would have passed him if she felt like it. Chris matched the pace that Fendrel had set, enjoying the feel of the wind in her face. She glanced back to make sure that they hadn't left Eleanora behind.Turning back Chris let out a yelp as Adra stumbled over a rock nearly falling. Chris managed to keep both herself and the horse from falling to the ground before dismounting.

"Figures," She said, lifting Adra's left foreleg. Chris could see at a glance that the horse had strained a muscle. Chris set the leg down gently before standing to pet her horse, whispering in the creatures ear. Chris had had Adra since the mare was born seven years ago. This wasn't the first time the horse had strained a muscle tripping over a measly rock, "Seriously, Adra." Chris chastised, "Now we can't go to the pond."

Chris could lead the horse to the pond and she wasn't against leaving the horse there but she knew that she wouldn't be able to run to the pond. And she'd feel better if she was mounted. "Sorry," She said gruffly, looking up at Eleanor and Fendrel. She really didn't want to cut this expedition short but unless an alternative came up it looked like they would have to do just that.
