"Annnnddd... we're in!" Cora crowed as the keypad beeped and the door hissed open. She turned around to congratulate her friends, then froze when she saw the standoff going on behind her. "What is the meaning of this?" She asked, shouldering her way between Kilee and Ellie. "We are in the middle of a great scientific undertaking, we don't have time for this!"

"Well I would feel less of a reason to kill you if you weren't armed and stalking us." Ki growled back. She hadnt put down her gun but pulled her finger away from the trigger.

Taegen

Taegen glanced back at the other girl , Cora, although he didn't actually know the girls name, then back at Ki, then over to the other two girls. He saw the snake and squinted, trying to make sure that the snake was actually there and not just another shadow. He jumped at the voice behind him and latched onto Ki as Cora pushed past him.

Devin

"Scientific undertaking?" Devin asked, looking between everyone trying not to tremble. She wasn't one for fights and her abilities would be useless in the tunnel... unless it happened to be storming in the room that the open door revealed, but Devin doubted it. Adrasteia started hissing again and Devin groaned at the cat. Would the thing ever learn when it was time to be quiet?

"Well would you rather live to see the "Scientific Undertaking" or die with out seeing it." Ki growled, lowering her pistol. She gave Taegen a reassuring glance before glaring back at Ellie and Devin.

"Well if I wasn't armed I would've died about an hour ago. If you need proof ask Cora, she's the one with the tooth. And it's kinda hard not to watch someone when they're opening a secret door and passageway that could lead to anything. If you don't think that's temping then you don't know the meaning of the word" I counter. I extend my arm towards the ground and my black snake jumps into the air and slithers up my arm and onto my shoulder. I look at the boy who is clearly frightened, then back at the girl, then to Cora.

"I can die once I've found it," Cora said. "Until then, until the name Cora Mills is engraved in the memories of mankind, I'm not going anywhere." Shouldering her way back to the door, the mechanic slowly walked inside, slightly nervous about what she would find.

Devin

Once it was apparent that she wouldn't get killed doing so Devin takes a tentative step towards the larger group. She may have felt uncomfortable but she really did want to see what was through the door, "I'm Devin," She says to no one in particular, "In case anyone was wondering.

Taegen

Taegen slowly peeled himself off of Ki and stood up straight. He was wringing his hands in front of him nervously, so his attempt to appear brave was thwarted. Taegen looks between the four girls making sure that he has everyone's names correct before allowing himself a small smile. These people were interesting, if a little frightening, and Taegen felt that his days alone or on mission's with people he didn't like were drawing to an end.

I eye a brick and bring my six knifes up to my face. I throw them all quickly at the brick and they stick into the wall and remain on the one brick, "If my blades are that much of a threat I'll get rid of them"I say. My attention turned to the girl next me, she wasn't much of a threat, or so it seemed, so I didn't really have to watch her as much.

"Welcome to the club." Ki growled to Devin and Ellie. "The names Ki." She spun on her heel and vanished in to the mysterious room. Ki hand to bite her lip to keep her from spitting back stinging retorts. "So what's so important that you'd die for it?" Ki asked Cora very ungraciously.

"That," Cora said, pointing to the object in the center of the room. It was a massive, bronze-colored sphere, about 20 meters in diameter. It's surface was dotted with circles of Turquoise-colored crystal, and it was decorated with ring patterns. A faint humming could be heard from somewhere inside it. Cora began to walk towards the sphere, moving like one in a trance.
