"You never did tell me what the deal was with your dragon," I say pointing it out to him. I wonder what Kailen was thinking about Jace and I getting into trouble. I shake the thought away and add, "also I did just get you out of trouble, what, twice now, so I think you can tell me."

"Fine" I shrug and start the short version of the explanation, "Elemental dragons are creatures created of a certain element. Fire dragons are only one kind. If they knew how, even water, earth and wind users could conjure dragons of their own elements. But it's dangerous magic, that's why they don't teach it here. A dragon is a living being, but it doesn't have its own source of energy, so it drains it from the user through a bond. It's a short term bond, but if it's interrupted, it can resolve in the dragon absorbing all of the users energy and I think you can imagine what that means." I stopped, waiting for some kind of reaction if he was even supposed to go on.

"So. Physics. If you're looking for a short definition, it's basically how things work. But that doesn't even begin to cover it. To start off, why don't we review Newton's laws? If I could have a volunteer, that would be wonderful." Ms. Edwards spoke up.

Cameron sat still, plotting revenge against the two Aries. What a bunch of disrespectful jerks that deserve to fight off a Balrog--without any help and no weapons whatsoever! She thought angrily, a light coating of frost emerging from under her fingers. She quickly wiped it away, not wanting others to notice she had little control over her anger emerging. Her anger dissipated to worry as she realized she hadn't heard anything from her mother since Monday morning. Jess has to be okay. The phrase rang through her head as she tuned out of science, allowing the anger from the Aries kids to distract her from her sister.

As they walked to the principal's office, Aden reflected on how he would ask her. Now that he was trying to steel himself, gather his courage and such, he wasn't sure if he would be able to talk or if he'd just clam up. He reminded himself that he'd been able to speak in front of a jury, admittedly several years ago, but he figured that speaking to one person should be much easier than speaking to a small crowd.

When the teacher says that we're going to review Newton's laws I couldn't help but as a question "isn't that a snack bar I though the science version was fig Newton's" I asked quiet seriously due to the fact that Rebecca wasn't in class and I was bored. I sigh I'd already aced this material on my own when I was living on the streets not that anyone even Rebecca needed to know that

Saffron glanced over at Aden, worried. She could tell he was pretty nervous to speak to Ms. Aaron, so she put a hand on his shoulder. "Hey. You're going to be fine. I've got your back. Plus, she's the easiest principal I've ever spoken to, and I had some pretty easygoing ones," she told him.

Aden smiled weakly at Saffron. "I'm sure. I believe you- I just can't break the habit of psyching myself out about these things." He sighed, staring at the closed door. He could hear voices beyond it. "I think she's busy- maybe we should wait." He muttered softly.
