Saige raced around the house, hurrying to get her shoes on and her teeth brushed. "Whoa there!" Said her Dad as she dodged him going down the stairs, causing him to stumble. "What's the big rush?" He asked, an amused smile across his face.
"I have a lot to do today dad. I have to run some errands for Mrs. Claymont. You know, the crazy widow who lives down the street. I figured since I'm not helping you out today, I could help her get her errands done quickly. Also she is paying me money to help! She said she had heard I'm a pretty efficient worker, so she asked me to help."
Saige said, hopping around on one foot while trying to lace up her leather boot on the other. She tripped and almost fell, but her father caught her.
"All right! Slow down. I know Mrs. Claymont is impatient, but if you end up breaking a leg you won't be able to help at all." He said laughing.
"Okay." Soon she was ready to go. Her boots on. Green tunic and brown leggings with a leather bag over her shoulder. She ran out the door, her father calling. "Be careful! Don't talk back to Mrs. Claymont, don't get into any fights, be home before dark. And remember. DON"T GO INTO THE FOREST!" He yelled as she raced off.
"OKAY!!" She called. Why would she want to anyway?
(No, posts shouldn't be this long, but I needed to set the scene.
