Kaii took in his new appearance a moment before she looked up at him and said, "I see the year has been kinder to me than you." She shifted her tail slightly, pursing her lips a little in thought. "I didn't think when I sent the invitation that you would actually come. We didn't part ways on a happy note."

(Yeah, it's okay. One is allowed to fangirl every now and again, even guys.....even though we call it something else.)

Zeke shrugged saying, "Honestly, I didn't think I would even get one. Like you said, we didn't part company on the best note. I was surprised to even see you again. I wasn't looking for you to come back for me."

"y-yeah ... im not sure what happened either ... but ... i guess if it's anything, i'd have to say i was too shy to really visit on my own - as my brother was always busy with work during the week, and my work is busier on the weekends ..." she murmured softly, putting both her hands in front of her as she gazed down a little. "i know it's no excuse ... and im sorry i haven't really gotten in contact with you ... but ... we both heard of your big day, and asked for the day off so we could come see you and your sister again. Though, my brother still hasn't changed much since the first time you met him ..." she laughed in a soft, nervous tone, quickly going silent as she began to feel awkward.

Sean nodded. "Well, you look good." His eyes roamed the room for his sister, and smiled when he saw her with her old romance. He looked back at Alice. "Listen. It's been a while since we talked. And since we almost dated. I don't want to make it awkward. I need to get this out- I think we should just remain friends for now."

Kaii looked down at her fins. "Well, I missed you…" she said. "And I know that it's been a year and all, but I wanted to see you again. I wanted to check up on you. See if you were doing okay. And you are, so…"

(No, not that, but our reaction to something similar to fangirling. Can't really decide if we're more dignified or not though....)

Zeke glanced down at his still healing tail and said, "Yeah, I suppose. I am glad to see you again though. It was different being so far from everyone."

The girl gave a light, weak nod, feeling a growing pain well up in her chest, but she didn't let it show. "d-don't worry too much about it ... and after all, you have a lot to uphold now - a lot to worry about. i don't want to add to that already heavy burden." she replied with a very soft and light-hearted laugh ... though her heart right now was quite the opposite. It was heavy and hard with sorrow and rejection ... but deep down she had already known it wouldn't work out - so all she had done was set herself up for pain, and now - she'd just have to cope with it.

Sean frowned deeply a second, feeling he had hurt her feelings. "Please, understand. For a king to get in a relationship so soon after his coronation raises suspicions. The scandalous act of the Indian Sea proved so over a century ago. Not forever." He reached down and took her chin gently between his thumb and index finger, gingerly lifting her face to make eye contact. His emerald green eyes softened. "Just for now."

Kaii nodded and cleared her throat. Clearly this was a bad idea. This was a train wreck! On a boat! This was going horribly. "Well," she said, trying to keep awkward silence from visiting them, "I see you're doing better now. Please stay for a bit. Socialise. Eat some food. Yes- please, eat whatever you want. The guards know your face..." She blushed. Of course they would. When they were seeing one another he spent quite a bit of time here. "They won't bother you."

Zeke flinched inwardly and rubbed his arm awkwardly as he replied, "Yeah....sure, I'll um....I'll do that." 'This isn't going well....at all,' he thought to himself as he glanced back at her. He knew it would be different, and maybe a little difficult, being back, but he didn't figure it would be like this.

"Oh, good; well then… I'll see you around." However, Kaii made no attempt to move. Awkward silence cursed them several moments. "Do you-" she rubbed her ear, making eye contact a moment before quickly looking away. "Do you want to dance or something?"
