Nym walked into the kitchen and spoke in a low voice. "She's had cancer for the past two years and the doctors are saying she won't see another Christmas." She sniffed and wiped her eyes, tears had started to form. "So, I am doing all I can for her, she's all I have left." Nym let out a strangled sob. Then she laughed hollowly. "Sorry, this probably wasn't the way you planned to spend your afternoon." She wiped her eyes again before opening the fridge and producing an apple and a chocolate bar each. She handed one to Stormie. "Here. It's not much, but it's all we have at the moment, I'm going shopping tomorrow." Nym sighed. "Stormie, it was nice having you here, but if you don't mind, I've gotta deal with mum, she hasn't been feeling good these past few days." She looked Stormie right in the eyes. "Maybe you can come 'round another day."
