Nym glanced up from her locker. "Oh, hey Stormie! How's it going?" She shouldered her bag and slammed her locker shut. "How was class, I hear you had something awful like Chem." She laughed. "I think Chemistry is the only subject I don't get A+'s in." She smiled cheekily. "I get A's." The smile lines around her mouth crinkled up as she grinned. "Are you walking home?"

*She smiled and shoulders her bag*"Well i dont walk...i fly"*She took her vest off and shooj out her wings*"ah that feels better already"*She laughed*"So do you want to come over to my place?"

Nym sighed and shook her head. "I'm sorry, I can't today. I promised my mom that I'd cook dinner tonight." She smiled. "Maybe another time though." She sat down on a bench and pulled out her phone. "I'm gonna be here a while, you go without me."

Nym smiled. "If your willing to wait here for an hour. Wouldn't you want to go home and see your parents after your first day?" She laughed. "I mean, you can, but I just thought maybe..." She trailed off. Maybe she doesn't have parents, Nym. Maybe she's an orphan or something. Nym smiled. "Sure, you can come."

*Stormie smiled*"yea...i live on my own..."*She shrugged*"but sweet!"*She chuckled*"I dont mind but im gonna fly around really quick"*She spread her wings and jumped, taking off letting the cool air take her as she flew around gracefully*

Nym smiled as Stormie took off before looking worriedly down at her phone. She began typing out a text message.
Hi mum, is it okay if one of my friends comes over this afternoon?
I know your not feeling well but I can still cook dinner and she won't stay long. Cu soon xx
She bit her lip and hit send. 'Stormie, we can head off now if you like," she called.

Nym nodded, but her eyes were pools of worry. "We'd best get back as soon as we can. I just don't know how my mum is doing today." She sighed. "Come on, lets go." She led the way out the gates and along the footpath for about 500m until she abruptly turned left onto a small dirt path. They walked down the dusty road for another kilometre until finally reaching a small old-fashioned looking house. Nym stomped up the steps and yelled out, "Mum! I'm home!" A feeble voice replied. "Okay, honey. There's some afternoon tea in the fridge." Nym ran into the bedroom and kissed her mother on the cheek. The woman was small and frail, wisps of blonde hair the same colour as Nym's poking out of her scalp. She was wrapped in a nightgown and hundreds of blankets. Nym looked up at her friend. "Well, Stormie, this is my mum, Sal."
