Kite Hollow was born in a science lab, he doesn't have any sort of memories of his past or carries any set of emotions, so he's basically emotionless all the time; since that's the way he was built. He wasn't built for powers, he was built to have knowledge, sort of built as a book. He has been told several times that books don't carry memories or a past, but they can carry history that'll bring knowledge. They don't carry feelings/emotions, but they can only define it or describe it. They just don't carry anything but knowledge and that's what he was basically built for.
The science lab built his kind just for butler/maid, teacher/professor, an inventor, a writer, business man/women, or anything that is worth knowledge use sage of their own knowledge. Though the scientists have been trying to keep them as immortal demons but ended up failing every single one of them and always ending up dying at the age of 23. Kite was the first to be the birth child and not in a DNA process, also looking a bit different then his kind since he ended up being born with gray skin. Kite describes his parents as a "success" of his own species. Since they were the only two to have dealt emotions their entire lives without any problems, but remained muted their entire lives. On purpose. Since they were extremely intelligent, they knew the scientists would take advantage of them and did suicide on their 23rd birthday while Kite was 6 years old, though the scientist didn't see it as suicide, but Kite did. Though he had never heard his own mothers voice but her humming, while his father said his first words before his death, speaking in Russian and backwards saying, "We love you Kite." Only Kite knew the little message while the scientist still couldn't figure it out.
