Lorin
He scaled the stairs fairly quickly. They weren't all that large anyway. There was a strange... scraping? Yes, scraping. Suddenly in the room. "What in the," Lorin muttered, going for the handle. It turned easily enough. However, when he tried to push it open he met resistance. He pushed the door. Nothing. He lowered the camera, letting it go and hang form the strap around his neck as he pushed a little harder with his now free hand pressing against the door. It budged slightly, opening a crack. He peered through, trying to figure out what had caused the obstruction. Chairs? How they they get there? The door had been... He shook his head. Nevermind how they got there. There were there and they were in his way.
He huffed, turning to look down the stairs. He was surprised to see Gilbert at the bottom. He had thought the other man had gone somewhere else in the house when he started up the stairs. He gestured at the door, "I'm having trouble getting this open," he said, giving the door a shake to demonstrate that the door was blocked, "Could you give me a hand?"

Jessica

A quiet, "Oh no," escaped past her lips. Jessica backed up against the window seat and plopped down on it, the impact sending dust flying everywhere. She wasn't ready! The girl still had yet to decide what her line was going to be when the man saw her; she opted to use, "Oh, hi there. As you can see, I'm kind of dead here and I sure could really use your help to unbind me from this house and find the person who murdered me," but she sort of figured that statement wasn't going to get her anywhere.
The reporter pushed against the door harder and managed to crack it open a bit. Luckily for Jessica, the chairs were holding pretty well at the time, but the ghost was very sure that they wouldn't stand a chance against the werewolf's strength. She heard the reporter ask for his assistance and she inhaled deeply to calm her nerves. Releasing her breath, Jessica decided that she was going to use that lame thing she thought up earlier as a conversation starter. She heard her werewolf of a housemate say something, then he came up the stairs. When she heard him step away, she removed the chairs and waited for impact threw his weight against the door.

Gilbert

Gilbert gave Lorin a puzzled look, watching as the man tried to force the door to the attic open. Was it really that hard to open a door? Gilbert sighed and shook his head, eyes still trained on the reporter upstairs. Then he turned around and stated that he was having a hard time opening the attic up and asked for Gilbert's help.
At first, the werewolf wanted to ask him to leave out of fear that he'd actually discover some specter upstairs, but then Gilbert guessed that if Lorin could actually catch a ghost on camera then he could possibly beat the crowds of people who were bound to flock to his house by getting a priest to cleanse his place of any paranormal activity. There was the possibly that Gilbert wouldn't be able to find someone to do this before word got out to the public, but that was a risk he was willing to take. At lease he'd be able to hang his clothes in the closest without the door slamming close on his fingers every time.
With a nod of his head, Gilbert walked upstairs and twisted the door knob and tried to push the door open. It moved an inch, but that was it. He tried once more, but the door wasn't opening. Gilbert backed up a step then lifted his leg up to kick down the door. He really wasn't expecting it to move, but when it flew open, Gilbert lost his balance and stumbled forward into the room.

Lorin
Lorin shrugged at the look as Gilbert came up the stairs. He had no idea why the chairs were there either. But he was sure he could figure it out once he got in the room. Which was looking less and less likely. The other, more muscular man was having trouble with the door as well. Lorin watch as he pushed once, twice and still no luck. He pinched the bridge of his nose, too focused on his annoyance to notice the scraping of the chairs inside the room. He had just looked up to tell Gilbert to just forget it, he'd be able to appease his boss with a couple picture of the family room, when Gilbert kicked at the door. He jumped as it flew open and Gilbert stumbled into the room.
Recovering from his shock, Lorin moved to follow his "host." Not all that concerned with if Gilbert was okay or not, he instead opted to looking around and inside the room. He first saw the chairs, now halfway across the room. Surely Gilbert's kick couldn't have pushed them that far away. A look of confusion settled on his face as he looked from the chairs. The next obvious thing in the room was the large window and seat in front of them.
His eyes widened and a look of shock replaced the confusion. He had been too focused on looking for the chairs at first, but now he saw it (her?). She was sitting against the window, watching them. She had red hair, blazingly red hair. For a moment his brain tried totell himself that she must be Gilbert's roommate or sister or something logical and rational. However, there was one undeniable fact that made his mind lock. She was... transparent?? He felt both his mind and body freeze, stuck staring at the ghost in front of him, uncomprehending.

Gilbert

Gilbert almost lost his balance and hit the floor, but luckily for him there had been an old desk on the side of the door where he was currently falling toward. He grabbed on tightly to the desk to keep from falling. The werewolf was quick to push himself up into a standing position again and did a quick survey of the room. It looked just like he had described it a few minutes prior: full of specks of floating dust and some old furniture. Nothing out of the ordinary. No ghosts, no spirits.
The werewolf folded his arms across his chest and watched Lorin enter the room. Looking down at the man, Gilbert was about to say something about not seeing any dead people, but the expression on Lorin's face changed to that of shock and this caused Gilbert to close his mouth and follow the human's gaze. Then he saw it, too, though it took him a second due to the bright sunlight almost blocking out the transparent image of a girl sitting on the window seat across the room. She looked at both of them and gave a short wave before smiling sheepishly at them.

Jessica

"Um...um...hello," she said in a quiet, barely audible voice. Jessica gave them another shy half smile as she went quiet again. Her plan had worked out much better than this in her head. Swallowing nervously as the two men in front of her stared at her with expressions that showed their shock, confusion, and fascination, Jessica wrapped her arms around herself and averted her eyes to the wall. She took a breath to calm her nerves before looking back at them. Then she proceeded to give her speech.
"So, uh...h-hi. I'm, you know, kind of dead here and I heard that you were a reporter and ghost hunter kind of guy," she paused again and looked at Lorin before continuing. "And I was thinking that maybe you could kind of help me get out of this house because I'm stuck here because someone murdered me, but I didn't even die in this house! I was dumped on the side of the road and the next thing I knew, I woke up here!" Jessica's plea quickly turned into a rant as she remembered what had happened to her.
