It's been 3 years.
3 years since they left. 3 years since humanity lost its first battle. 3 years since it ended, and simultaneously began.
It's been 3 years since an alien race called the Eleusians officially conquered Earth. They came from a planet we don't even have a name for, using strange portal technology to travel unmeasured light years across space. But the thing was, Earth had dealt with these kinds of problems before. They had superheroes-And if those failed, supervillains. We were unafraid, and somehow unprepared.
The Eleusians had a fascination with these superhumans and supergeniuses, and many were kidnapped, and much technology stolen. We don't know what they did with them. The Eleusians took them back to their home planet, Eleusia...But beyond that, we have no idea. They could be still alive, or long since dead. No human has been to Eleusia and lived to tell the tale.
It took a long while before we realized we were losing. Now, us humans, we aren't used to losing. There's always a last-minute save, isn't there? Not this time. Our military forces didn't even stand a chance against creatures who could kidnap superhumans. Almost a third of Earth's population was decimated in only a 10-month war. Country by country, we surrendered. And country by country, the human race was enslaved. Made to do the bidding of our alien overlords. Our spirit has drained in 3 years, our faith slowly ebbing into darkness and oppression.

But there is hope. Most of us don't know it, but in New York City (Still a smoldering pile of ash after over 3 years), in an abandoned and mostly intact lab, hope has been cultivated. A group of renegade scientists [Called H.O.P.E.-Humans Organized to Protect Earth] have gathered all information on the missing superhumans and stolen technology that they can. With these revolutionary technological advances-And the most crucial secret, DNA samples from superhumans-They can rebuild superheroes. Numerous young adolescents, between the ages of 11 and 21, have been taken in by H.O.P.E. Most were damaged, nearly dead, or on line for execution when they were stolen away. Here, they have been modified with synthesized DNA and technology into the superhumans we so miss. They are the next generation, each now containing at least some DNA from a famous hero or villain from the old days. H.O.P.E. has a plan-They've restored a destroyed Eleusian portal, and they're going to send these young bits of hope to Eleusia-Where their job is to find out what became of their ancestors, and, ultimately, to overthrow the Eleusians. We don't know what's up there. We don't know who gives the Eleusians orders. We have no idea what we're up against.
But they must never know. Most have some clue left so that H.O.P.E. scientists can identify who their source material is from, but they themselves are not yet ready to know the truth about how they were cured. They cannot find out that they are the indirect children of those they dream to save. Their memories are scattered, broken-Except for important grudges against the Eleusians, and important ties to humanity.
It's only one week until Comet Day, when Eleusian officials on Earth will pass frequently back and forth between portals. On Comet Day, H.O.P.E. will send a batch of young, mutated, synthesized teenagers to fight against an enigmatic alien kingdom two planets strong. They must be ready by then. What they find on Eleusia will shock them, but what they find closer to home might shock them even more.
Their destiny: Save the world.

There are 7 Days Until Departure
Rules:
- Literacy: I just want you to be understandable-It's not too difficult to use proper capitalization and punctuation, and quotation marks "" when characters talk. No one-liners please, I'd prefer at least three lines. Don't switch tenses or perspectives.
- You can have as many characters as you can handle.
- Don't put 'To be Rped' anywhere in your form.
- Characters of any sexuality are allowed. If you don't want to, you don't have to, just be tolerant.
- You can use a picture or a description for your character's appearance, but please be descriptive if you're going for a description.
- Not everyone's character is a ray of sunshine, but one thing that frequently occurs in RPs (Especially human ones) is one of those people. The people with a character who's incredibly aggressive towards everyone else except one other person, who is usually a real-life friend's character. I like to call them 'Conditional Volcanoes' due to their character's tendency to be a ball of angry fire at everyone except their one super-bestie who they talk to in OOC all the time. I cannot begin to use family-friendly words to describe how much I hate these people. If I notice you doing this I will call. You. Out. I will not tolerate this persistently. If you think someone else is doing this, shoot me a PM. Nobody likes Conditional Volcanoes!
- Other than these, just follow forum guidelines. I really don't ask too much, but I think I accidentally turned rule #5 into a rant.

~Annamaria Octavius~
“I'm a little bit of everything, all rolled into one”
.:Full name:.
Annamaria Sasha Octavius
.:Superhero Name/Other Nicknames:.
Her official super name is Titania, but few people ever call her that. Most people call her Anna or Annie.
.:Age:.
13 years
.:Gender:.
Female
On the Outside
.:Looks:.
Anna is a strange specimen-Fairly short, and obviously heavily built, but lanky and lean-muscled. Her broad chest and heavy frame are nowhere near filled out. She has a large pair of wings, emblazoned with the pattern of an Anna's 88 butterfly. Normally they lie against her back like moth wings, but she can expand them in an instant. They're affixed to a metal spine application that runs down her real spine. It stops at her neck where the apparatus connects to her brain. She has fairly short brown hair, rippled with dark and light highlights. Her eyes are fire-colored and are said to resemble twin suns.
.:Abilities:.
She can fly, and she's incredibly smart. She can also conjure small fireballs.
.:Scars/Tattoos:.
None at the moment
Looking in the soul
.: Personality:.
Anna is a smart, calculating, observant individual, if no too social. She has a tendency to sit and watch silently from a perch in the shadows, and only inserts herself into a conversation if she deems it necessary. When she does, she tends to be very matter-of-factual and straightforward.

Nicky generally tries to be a good person, but he can be defensive and aggressive at times.
