"I was doing ok, you know, sleeping in the forest, going into town for supplies. I haven't talked to anyone but myself for the past few weeks though, and I'm starting to freak even myself out." Ali allowed herself a small smile. "Anyway, Bec, you seem to have been doing quite finely. A nice warm sleeping bag, a little weird rat thing, what else have you gotten from this apocalypse?"

"Oh, well, I never loved my life before and I was always pretty independent so it isn't that much of a change. My last foster family lived in an apartment in the city so when I realised what was happening I just got as ready as I could and ran away. I figured being around loads of people with an infection wouldn't be such a great idea. Oh, and I found the little thingy in the forest yesterday - she had a massive gash in her leg so I tried to help her but she seemed like she was doing okay on her own." Bec smiled. "It's sort of good, in a way. I mean, we don't have to go to school and I'm getting really fit from all this running." She laughed and looked at the other two girls. She was so happy to have found some people she could be comfortable with. She had never had close friends because she was moving all the time. Apparently saving each other's butts was good for relationships.

Ali allowed herself to smile at Bec's story. Usually she kept her emotions in check, so as not to seem weak, but these girls made her feel like she didn't need to. Ali glanced up. "Oh look, there's the camp store, Delphene, do you wanna go in there real quick for a sleeping bag? We can pick up some other stuff as well."

"Oh my god, yes. And actually, what i've been doing, is going from house to house, clearing it out, and then sleeping there. It's an idea if either of you want to do it." Delphene said to the other two girls.
