Sozin was among the first that applauded the news. He smiled down at Alessandra, glad to hear the joyous news. He knew that Tsura was often upset that she hadn't been blessed with a child yet. But now, she was and there would be an heir to the throne.

Nikolai applauded with the rest of the crowd, glancing around the room as he tried to keep his eyes from falling on Wellbe and Adela. He had to force himself to truly let her go. After all, there was no way she would ever look at him the same after that execution.

Aedan brought his hands together in applause for the royal couple, a smile spreading across his face. Such happy news on a night like tonight meant good things for everyone. "Now that's nice news to hear from just about anyone," he said with a smile, looking down at Kyla for a few moments. He wondered for a few moments, what her place was in all this, but he shrugged it off. He felt her hand tighten around his arm, and looked down at her again, concern in his eyes. "You alright?" he said in a whispered tone. "Do you need a drink or maybe some air?"

Odhran watched the room as Tsura made her announcement, and smiled as the crowd began to applause and cheer. He was glad that there was a positive reaction from the people, glad that there was happiness in the room now, more happiness than there had been at the beginning of the night. Everything is going to change now, he thought his eyes roving around the room, watching everyone's movements. Their view of her, their view of me. Everything is new now. He looked to Nikolai who was looking around, then to Wellbe who still stood with the Civan Captain.

Alessandra smiled up at Sozin and before she had a chance to reply to him, she heard a voice calling for silence, then heard the Queen's announcement. She blanched a little, thinking that perhaps she shouldn't have done that. So many women lose their baby early on, what if that happens to her, and then her announcement will have been in vain? she thought, fear coursing through her for a few seconds for even thinking that. She put her hands together and held them tightly. Not wanting to let on that she was nervous for any reason, she looked away from Sozin, trying to avoid his gaze.

Mordred looked back at Baliss and nodded, watching the people swirl around him knowing that this was the chance of a lifetime. He looked up as there was calls for attention on the Queen. Well I'll be damned, he thought, shaking his head. "That certainly throws an interesting curve our way," he said in a hushed tone to Baliss, trying to keep their conversation between the two of them.

Wellbe smiled, "Some would say I'm quite observant." He said, "But they'd have to be blind not to see it." Gently, he tipped her head up to look at him. A few seconds went by, before he heard Tsura and Odhran speak. Wellbe dropped his hand, accidentally brushing against Adela's hand, as he turned to face them for the announcement. He tried to keep face smooth, wondering if anyone had seen that, as he processed the new information.

Nikolai kept his gaze wandering around the room. He was still very grateful that his escort had abandoned him for better company and that he wouldn't be dragged into a dance with her. For once, he was grateful for his job calling him away to a different posting for the night.

Sozin looked down at Alessandra and saw the worried look on her face. "Is something wrong?" he asked softly, leaning down so that he was more at her level.

"How so?" Baliss asked softly, casting a wary eye as a Naga guard slid past them on a patrol of the room.

Adela flushed red, reaching up to cover her cheeks for a few moments to try and hide it. Before she could let out a response for Wellbe, she heard the Queen's speech and let a little smile spread across her face before her gaze fixated back on Wellbe. She knew that him and the Queen had known each other for years, but she also knew that sort of thing shouldn't effect how he would react to good news like this. "Such splendid news," she said with a happy light voice. "A royal baby is always something to celebrate." She wouldn't mention that her own Queen had several children of her own, but rather let this moment speak for itself.

Alessandra heard Sozin's soft voice and looked up at him, taking her eyes away from the Queen slowly. "Hm? Oh, I'm just worrying is all," she said with a smile and a little laugh, trying to brush this all off. But then she realized that Sozin was someone she could likely confide her worries in, and she should probably tell someone what she was worried about. "A lot of women lose a baby early on, for no good reason," she explained. "Usually by the time a woman knows that she is pregnant, she's safe from that risk, but things do go wrong. I just pray that things do not go wrong here."

"The barren Queen can have children," he said with a little smile. "I'm sure you've heard the rumors that have been swirling about her and the Governor's inability to conceive a child? They're not exactly good dinner talk, but they are what they are." He shrugged a little, leaning up against a wall for a few moments, watching the crowd around him. "This baby changes a lot of things Baliss, the shift of power and confidence especially," he said keeping his voice low. "With this, confidence will be restored in the Queen by may and the questioning of her ruler ship will stop being questioned. This baby is bad news for us."

I looked up at Aedan as he expressed his concern for me. I loosened my grip, having only just noticed how tight I was clinging. "Fine," I responded almost snappily. I coughed slightly, regretting my momentary lapse in control. "I'm sorry Aedan," I appologised, my face scarlet in colour. "I don't know what came over me. I'm fine, thank you for asking." I didn't know how he'd react, as nice a man as he was I had just been down right rude. A thought struck me and I knew I shouldn't be at this ball. Tonight in particular. I should make an excuse and leave. I had been looking forward to this though. Maybe just a dance or two and then I'd make my excuses, it was a joyous night after all, I should embrace it.

(Since Nikolai is starting to sound like a broken record, I'm just going to leave him be for right now unless someone wants to talk to him or Mordred and Baliss try something.)

"I'm sure everything will be fine. She'll have the best doctors looking after her and she'll do whatever she can to ensure the baby's safety. I hope that this worry accounts to nothing at all and in a few months time, this castle will be blessed with the sounds of baby laughter," Sozin replied with a gentle smile as he tried to alleviate Alessandra's worries.

Baliss grunted as he looked over at the happy royal couple. "I see. What do you propose we do now?" he asked, looking back at Mordred.

Wellbe looked at Adela, and nodded slightly. "Yes, I suppose it is." He said, a small smile on his face. "Not that we really needed one, but everyone else probably did. It's sure to lighten the mood too." Looking around as everyone talked excitedly about the news.

Seriously, what was going on with this royalty mind nowadays? Sure Arthur was not supposed to be there, but just like he had told Nikolai he would be around. Not seen but around. Now the dragon, on it's shrunken form, observed from a slightly tall leafy plant placed on the room for decoration. He looked around the people present on the room, a frown present on his face as he heard the queen's announcement. That was wrong. She shouldn't have said anything about it, specially when she was possibly visible for potential enemies who knew she was now carrying the heir to the throne. This was a way to kill the whole family. Simply letting them all know... "D**n, no one told this queen to keep her d**n mouth shut?" Oh well, he was no guard so it was not his business but that bad feeling continued to linger on him and so he hid back down on the plant. There were plenty of plants who seemed harmless and if eaten in a certain time during the pregnancy would cause serious damage, and he doubted she knew about it or anyone, except for Alessandra but he doubted she was thinking about that by then.
