Magic is real. Magic has always been real. At least, in this world, known as Solvan. On Solvan, magic is mastered and bended to a mage's will. Yes, a mage. The inhabitants on Solvan are Mages. Elemental mages, in fact. There is a group of mages for each element, each mage able to control a different element.
However, there is something special about all of these Mages: they are all connected by a lifeline. This "lifeline", known as the Core, is said to have all the elements combined in a single object; but nobody knows exactly what it is. The Core is slowly losing its power, growing weaker with each passing day. Once it loses its power, something terrible will happen. There are rumors about what exactly is going to happen, some think that the mages will lose their ability to harness the elements, therefore becoming normal humans. Others think that this means there will be an apocolypse: Solvan will explode amd such. The truth? Nobody knows.
To make matters worse, the mages are starting to blame other elemental fairies. The Dark Mages think that the other Mages are banding together and framing the Core's power as revenge on the Dark Mages, while the Earth fairies believe that it's the Fire, Water, Air, and Electric causing this downfall in the Core. Suddenly, a war has broken out; each group of elementals set against everyone else.
However, there is still hope... A prophecy has been made, a prophecy claiming that 1 Mage of each element will join together to end the war.

.:THE EARTH MAGES:.
The Earth Mages have a distinct personality. They are very, very strong-willed, and it is extremely hard to change their mind. They can also get very passionate about particular things, and though they are not easily angered, once they get angry, they get very angry. The Earth Mages are not someone you want as an enemy, and though they make strong friends, it is easy to break their friendship. They are the only ones who do not look down on the Dark Mages, in fact, they've formed an alliance with the Dark. The Earth Mages are very talented in hiding true emotions: like the Dark Mages, they never let anyone know when they are feeling grief, sorrow, or fearful.

Strengths:
Strong, unusually talented with controlling the Earth element, fast on the ground

Weaknesses:
Clumsy, not agile

Sub-elements:
Plants, lava

.:THE AIR MAGES:.
The Air Mages have one distinguishing quality: they will do anything, anything, to save their tribe. Even destroy another one. They are cold to outsiders, but kind to other Air Mages. They are clever, too, and extremely loyal. They are great fighters, not to mention. They live in the mountains, closest to the sky. They are not someone you want as an enemy: if you want to know why, look at te Fire Mages.

Strengths:
Fast, very agile

Weaknesses:
Weak, not strong

Sub-element:
Weather (rainstorms, hurricanes, ect.)

.:THE ELECTRIC MAGES:.
The Electric Mages are friendly, though not as bubbly as the Air Mages. They are shy, stubborn, humurous, loyal, and smart. They are extremely loyal, and good freinds, though are not forgetful, and they tend to hold grudges. They are also excellent liars. They are cunning, nearly as cunning as the Dark Mages. However, mostly, they don't lie unless they need to, but there are exceptions. They are shy around new people, though they are excellent.

Strengths:
Great acrobatics, agile, fast

Weaknesses:
Not strong, clumsy

Sound

.:THE WATER MAGES:.
The Water Mages are not likely to attack others. They seem to try and keep the peace; they try to stay out of the war as much as possible. They try to avoid fighting while trying to make peace. If you make friends with a Water Mage, you will have a good friend for life. They tend to forgive oyher's mistakes, and are mild-tempered and amicable, their motto being GO WITH THE FLOW. However, they sometimes overlook things that should be taken care of, and are slow to do something, especially in emergencies. They live on an island in the middle of the lake.

Strengths:
Strong, agile, great swimmers

Weaknesses:
Slow, clusmy

Sub-element:
Ice

.:THE FIRE MAGES:.
The Fire Mages seem to go by this: guilty until proven innocent. They seem to hate all strangers, and argue constantly. They trust practically nobody, they're even cautious about their allies. They are easily angered, horribly stubborn, and cocky and reckless. Most Mages can't stand being with a Fire Mage for more than 15 minutes, for Fire Mages find some reason to hate everyone. However, to their friends, they are funny, fiercely loyal, stubborn, strong-willed, and caring. The Fire Mages do not live in any certain area: in fact, they are scattered throughout the land, still recovering from the attack from the Dark Mages. (Read the next post, "History of the Mages" for more info on this.) They are trying to get back together and get off the ground.

Fast, agile, good with controlling fire

Weaknesses:
Not strong, clumsy

Sub-element:
Smoke

.:THE DARK MAGES:.
The Dark Mages are hated by every Mage except for the Earth, yet everyone has good reason to hate them. The Dark Mages are solitary, residing underground beneath the neutral area: not even the Earth Mages know where they live. They are easily angered, and they get very defensive and emotional when it comes to the faults of the Dark Mages. Other than that, they never show emotion. They trust nobody, and are very, very cunning. Surprisingly enough, they are terrible when it comes to physical strength & speed, but their cleverness makes up for it. They are also extremely talented with controlling the shadows. There are rumors that they can read minds, but nobody knows whether that is true. They are great at insulting, and are also humurous around their freinds, and loyal. Kind would be stretching it.

Cunning, extremely talented with controlling darkness, agile

Weaknesses:
Not strong, not fast

Light

The Mages began to sort themselves into 6 groups: Electric, Fire, Water, Earth, Air, and Light. The Core was hidden with the Air Mages, while the Light Mages wanted the Core for their own, hoping they could use it for their own good. However, when the Air Mages learned that the Light Mages planned on taking the Core, they leaked a false rumor that the Fire Mages had the Core. So the Light Mages attacked the Fire Mages, tearing them apart and massacreing them. The surviving Fire Mages fled and went into hiding, while the Light Mages did not find the Core.
After the Light Mages destroyed the Fire Mages, something changed about them. The element they controlled changed completely; they found they could no longer control light, but instead, the shadows obeyed their commands. They became the Dark Mages, hated by all Mages.
Later on, when the Dark Mages learned that it was the Air Mages that had the Core, the Dark Mages tried to attack the Air Mages the same why they destroyed the Fire Mages. Yet the Air Mages were ready, and they attacked first, with the Water Mages on their side. The Water and Air Mages were wining the fight, they about to demolish the Dark Mages when the Earth Mages jumped in, joining the battle on the Dark Mages' side. The Dark & Earth Mages won, and the Water and Air Mages fled. That was when the Earth and Dark made an alliance. The Electric Mages had managed to stay out of the whole escapade: instead, the Electric Mages were helping the Fire Mages get back on their feet. To this day, the Fire Mages are still trying to get off the ground, and they hate the Dark and Air Mages especially, while they owe the Electric. The Earth and Dark has an alliance, and the Water and Air remain friends.

The reason Light is a sub-element of the Dark Mages is because the Dark Mages used to be Light. And the Dark Mages who are not evil, who are good, are able to control the light, too.

Tess's rules apply.

Pretty self explanitory.

No swearing.

No cursing, swearing, cussing, whatever you want to call it. Dang, crap, shoot, darn, ect. are allowed, but not d***, h***, sh**, ect. I'm sorry that I have strict rules on this, but that's the way it is. You are not allowed to star the cursing out, either. I only did that for example.

Be nice OOC.

OOC stands for "Out Of Character". That means that your character can be as mean as you want in role play, (the meaner, the better!) but when speaking not in role play, BE NICE. Drama in the RP is fine. Drama out of RP... Not so much.

No power-playing/god-modding.

If your Earth Mage character just created a 9.9 scale earthquake, be reasonable. That's big, it takes a lot of energy, your character might fall unconscious, or even die. If your character is being chased by 5 other people, your character will probably lose. Or even if your character does get win, she'll probably get seriously injured. Be reasonable.

Drama encouraged! But no major plot twists without my permission.

Susie and Tommy got into a fight and are now attacking each other. That's drama- great! It adds excitement. Bob broke his leg and nearly drowned. That's also great! More drama! However, for something that effects everybody, like the Water Mages attack the Earth Mages. You'd have to tell me, because that affects ALL the Earth Mages and ALL the Water Mages, as possibly everyone else, because allies would get tied up in the fight. If it's just one Earth Mage and one Water Mage killing each other, fine. But not a whole tribe.

No killing or seriously injuring another character without the owner's permission.

You may not kill my character without asking my permission. Also, you may not break my character's back without my permission, too.

No dating/crushing on your own character.

If you do, then it gets a little boring for everyone else. :P

Try to stick to your element's personality.

If you're from the Dark Mages, try to stick to the Dark Mages' personality. You can change it a little, but in general, thy should act that way.

.:Rules of Solvan:.

After a Mage uses a lot of magic, there is a consequence.

If a Water Mage causes a Tsunami, that Mage will probably faint. If she just makes a beam of water, nothing much will happen. If your Mage does something super powerful, there is a chance they might die.

About the sub-elements.

Each Mage may only have 1 or no sub-elements. Sub-elements are something that is related to their element, but not quite their element. For the Water Mages, ice is their sub-element. A Water Mage with the sub-element of ice will be able to freeze water into ice, or shoot beams of ice. (Think of Elsa and her ice powers. Except no castle-building or stair-case building. Again, be reasonable.) If you are an Earth Mage with the sub-element Plants, then you can NOT control lava. Instead, you control plants.

Fallon acts exactly like the typical Fire Mage: snappy, sarcastic, sassy, short-tempered, strong-willed, easily aggravated, hot-headed, reckless and rude. A bully. To her friends, though, she's kinder, still hot-headed and reckless, but becomes funny and caring, too. She's also crazily ambitious, and smart.

Fallon's parents fought a lot. When the Dark Mages attacked them, her father killed her mother. Later in the attack, her father was also killed from the Dark Mages. Fallon fled, living in the neutral area until recently, when she's been coming back.
