Alex sensed the arrow coming, but it was already too late. She swerved her wings, but the arrow caught the tip of her flight feather. She desperately tried to fly as far as she could, and when she could no more, given that she was carrying extra weight, she fell with Raven to the ground. "Go!", she hissed. "The arrow caught me, not you, run while you still can, I'll protect myself."

Alex felt his wings retract forcefully as some dog bit him. He swiped at the dog, effectively throwing him away for a second. He snarled and took a fighting stance, his wounds already healing.
