Ray kept his gaze glued to the floor and bit at his lip to hide the wide smile threatening to take over. "Well, I suppose I could. I mean, if it'd make you feel safer to have me here, how could I refuse?" he teased, giving up and smiling at Draco.
It would be nice to have company for a change, even if said company was passed out. 'I think this will be my first sleepover... how am I this old and have never slept at a friend's house? That's just sad...'

Draco blushed and rolled his eyes. "Would you rather have me pick another vampire to guard me, then?"

"You can...sit on the bed...if you want." Draco blushed furiously. "It it's more comfortable."

Ray growled when Draco mentioned bringing another vampire in, even if he knew he wouldn't actually do it. He wasn't entirely sure why he was still there, himself. After a moment, he slowly walked over to Draco's bed, tentatively sitting at a corner, then looked back up to Draco, as if for confirmation.

[ Way more often than I'd care to admit... X3 ]

Draco laughed. "I don't know what you're looking at me like that for. You aren't the one in danger of getting bitten, here." Draco crawled under the covers of the bed, yawning. "It's okay, Ray. I trust you."
I hope I don't regret it...

((I could not, for the life of me, spell "furiously". I don't know why - maybe I haven't used it in a long time? Idk but I just couldn't. It was really rough. xD))

Ray watched him crawl under his blanket, a mystified smile crossing his face. After a few moments, he started looking around the room, wanting to investigate, but couldn't quite make himself get up. Instead, he allowed himself to get lost in his memories.
"Dude, I trust you, now come on!" the boy called, yanking at Ray's sleeve. It was about a decade after his fugue state, and he'd finally managed to carve out a life somewhere. The boy leading him, Ray couldn't remember his name, had thick brown hair and dark green eyes, and a wonderful smile. Said smile was being flashed at Ray as the boy ran backwards, tugging Ray along with him. Trees all around them, they were in a forest, and they were going to watch a meteor shower. The boy had said it'd be awesome, first one in this area in their lifetimes. Human, painfully so, and he wasn't paying attention to where he was going, too focused on pulling Ray along with him. He didn't see the root, didn't understand when Ray tried to make him stop, didn't have time to register that he was falling before he scraped up both his arms, didn't realise why Ray jumped at him. He would have known why Ray doesn't get close to people, would have known why Ray doesn't care for trust. It makes you careless.
Ray jumped away from the bed and landed at the windowsill, staring out with wide eyes and trying to calm his breathing. 'I will not hurt him, no matter what,' he thought, trying to convince himself more than anything.

Draco woke up that night, screaming, per usual.

After Draco calms his breathing, he explains. "It's the nightmares," Draco says, looking away. "Every night...I remember everything they did to me...I can forget when I'm awake but as soon as I close my eyes, the memories come back."

((UGH I"M SO FRUSTRATED. there's a movie I really want to watch that's in another language and I don't think there's a version with english subtitles i'm going to cry hhhhhhhhhhhhh)))

stella arrived at the store at 6:55 sharp with the form he had given her all filled out, and the bag covered with pins slung over her shoulder. she waved at him from outside hoping he saw her.

Ray jumped over to him frantically looking to see if he was hurt, then froze when he explained. His right eye twitched a bit, but that was the only movement for a few moments. Taking a deep breath to calm himself, he tried to find something to say, but just found himself holding back another growl. "I..." he sighed, struggling for consoling words before giving up. "If you need anything, I'm here..." he said lamely, running a hand through his hair.
