Scythe nudged her, "Tis okay, go back to sleep." She said.

He bit his lip "I'm alive, so you don't have to worry about that any more. I'm just curious about it is all" he said softly and then asked "so who all went to my so called funeral? I bet you did! But I guess I never really got out much so no one really knew who I was...it was only you wasn't it? You and the priest. Mum and dad went there for show but you were the only one actually there weren't you?" He asked softly and lay back on the bed with a smile "you were always a good big brother, always taking care of me even if you were tied up with other things. You were always there to stand up for me and protect me. I can still remember the time dad actually took us on a so called vacation to a river to go fishing. I was only four and didn't know how to actually throw the line in the water and the hook kept getting caught in the bushes." He paused and looked at the ceiling "dad got really mad at me and he started yelling at me and hitting me a couple of times but you stood up for me and took the worst of it you always kept a smile on your face whenever you protected me but I knew how much you were hurting...I never got to thank you for any of that" he said sadly and glanced at Caleb
(I just made that fishing thing up )

Caleb shook his head lightly. "The night I thought I'd killed you," he said slowly. "I had set fire to a festival. I don't think that's something a good big brother would do.."

"K-kay.." Scout stammered, resting her head again but not closing her eyes.

Scythe paced around the large cavern. She lashed her tail, knocking over a trashcan. She hissed in surprise and quickly set it up right and cleaned it up.

Max
He sighed "I don't know why you think you killed me. I wasn't even near you whenever mum and dad dragged me away from home. But even if you did do that it doesn't mean anything to me. Your my big brother, my idol and my best friend! I could never look down on your for something like that and I'm sure it wasn't your fault anyway. You were young and just starting to practice your powers and try to control them. It isn't your fault" he said softly and sat up and looked at him with a small smile his eyes sparkled and his blue eye showed love in it.

Caleb turned over, looking back at him. "I know~ but I was responsible for the death of so many people.." He shook his head and almost started crying, but didn't. He looked at the ceiling again. "I passed out from smoke inhalation, and they told me you were dead. I went back there, but I couldn't find you - there were plenty of five year olds with..." He coughed, "burnt faces. I couldn't recognise you." Caleb continued fighting the sobs as he remembered what he had done - practically breaking their families apart. But of course, no-one believed that an eleven-year-old burst into flames, so they blamed it on a terrorist attack, at the time.
He looked down at his feet as he tried to keep his mind off of the things he had done when he was a kid. "I didn't want to become a monster to them, but I did." He dropped back down onto the pillow, and closed his eyes for a moment. "I've recounted it so many times it feels like I was watching a movie, seeing someone else run away from the scene crying only to pass out on the street, waking up in hospital with wires hooked up to their limbs."

Scout woke up this time, just turned over and sat up when she realised she couldn't hear in her left ear. The shape-shifter yelped and clutched her ear. "No, no.."

[Ayato ototochan]

He listened silently. He started playing with his brothers hair but his eyes were dull this time "your alive aren't you? Forget about the people you killed and live your life" he said almost darkly "the more normal people that die the closer us vampires can take over the world!!" His eyes flashed in amusement but were still dull. It wasn't really Max talking but it was his darker vampire side that was.

[shybot]

"No," Caleb suddenly sat up, looking as the dark side of Max took over. He shook his head. "How would you feel if I was killed by some idiot kid?" He asked, before leaving the room to the living room, collapsing on the sofa and digging his head into a cushion to quieten the hysterical sobs that racked his body.

[Ayato ototochan]

Max
He narrowed his dark eyes slightly "I would probably kill just about everyone in this whole world if you got killed" he said before sighing when his brother left. He smirked and stood up "everyone will die! Caleb and his smelly pet can live but everyone else will be destroyed!" He paced the room and his eyes flashed and turned back to normal "huh? Wasn't I in bed? Why am I by the window?" His eyes widened when he didn't see Caleb and he almost panicked thinking that he was in a dream. He walked out of the room and looked around the second floor but didn't see his brother. He was quivering, if this was a nightmare or a dream it certainly wasn't funny. He was terrified that something happened to his brother. He hurried down stairs "big brother? Where are you?" He asked in a shaky almost weak tone. He looked around and his eyes widened seeing his brother on the sofa seemingly crying. He ran to him and hugged him as best as he could and was still quivering

Caleb was quiet when he felt the hug. "You have schizophrenia too," he said, voice rough and breathing slightly harsher than normal. "Runs through the family.."
