Flinched slightly at the cough before frowning "I know who you are...I have known who you are for my entire life, from the day I was born to now. I have never once forgotten your name" he looked at Logan silently and then back at Caleb "so your boyfriend is a werewolf huh? Well I'm glad you found someone who makes you happy" he said softly

"I'm glad you're not judgemental about it," Caleb smiled lightly with a bite of the lip. "I didn't believe it at first. I thought if you died then I'd feel something. Anything. But there was nothing. No break of the connection.. Nothing," he frowned lightly before hugging Max lightly, smiling at their height difference.

Max
He smiled "why would I be? Although...your boyfriend smells like he needs a good grooming" he teased lightly. He sighed softly "sounds like they really got into your head..." He murmured. His eyes widened at the sudden hug. He hesitated before hugging him back. He remembered always feeling safe whenever his big brother hugged him. He had always admired his brother and that feeling never changed even if it had been ten years. He was silent for a moment before saying "I missed you so much" in almost a whisper.

Caleb smiled. "I'll work on that," he said back, and nodded lightly. "They did. Then the scars started to show again and I didn't bother covering them. Dad got arrested for abuse all too late." He rested his chin on Max's head. "And for the record, I missed you too."

He also smiled before biting his lip "that was smart thinking on your part, letting everyone see what dad was doing...but that's going to be short lived now...I have seen him all over town..." He murmured nervously and flinched slightly. He smiled when Caleb rested his chin on his head and also smiled hearing that he missed him too "we have a lot we need to catch up on..." He said softly and snuggled in closer to him.

Caleb blinked a little when he heard that Max had seen their dad all over the town. Logan's words echoed into his head and he felt a lot safer. "You can stay over at mine for a while. Logan's looking after me, and you're family - he has to look after you by default." He rubbed his back gently, edges of his fingertips brushing against his back. "I have a lot of time. Don't need a job.. Not when I can do this -" he put his hand to the side, and his eyes flashed, filling the palm of his pale hand with coins.

He blinked "I...I don't want to intrude, besides I...I have a home...well a place I call home..." He murmured. He felt soothed by the way his brother was rubbing his back but he was also afraid that those hands would feel the scars of his past when he was trapped at the government facility. Only a few scars were from their father. He listened to him and his eyes sparkled seeing his brother use magic "so you have finally mastered using magic?! That's so cool!!"

"It's not intruding," Caleb said gently. "It's.. Catching up. Just for a few days. You seem a little shaken up." He looked down at him, and sighed as he felt the small bump of a scar caught under Max's shirt. "They experimented on you too, then.." He sighed lightly, and made the coins disappear again. "Oh yeah. Best way to impress someone is to materialise a flamethrower in front of them then collapse."

He bit his lip "if you say so. And I'm alright...just happy that I finally found you!" He flinched hearing this and his hair fell over his eyes "y...ya...you know how mum and dad told you I died...truth is...the truth is..." He tensed and started quivering slightly "they practically left me at the governments doorstep...eight years I had to put up with it...eight years of wondering if I'm going to die..." He continued quivering and then blinked and looked at Caleb "I don't need anyone now that I found you!" He said softly

"It's okay," Caleb said when he felt the shakes going through him. "Really.. It's okay, Max. We'll look after you." He promised, sighing as he hugged him a little tighter. "Well, I still need Logan, but you'll do fine too, I suppose.." Caleb teased, then broke out into a smile.
