Sirius shuffled the boxes in his hands as Rowan took them one by one and unpacked them. They had arrived in town last night, and were still trying to get things unpacked. It never takes this long, but it might have something to do with Rowan's little shopping spree. She insisted that she decorate her room this time, and Sirius decided not to argue. If decorating her room makes her feel like the other kids, then who was he to say no? Besides, she was happier this way, even though Sirius found no point in it.
As she takes the last box, Sirius bids her good bye and goes outside, whistling loudly, calling his dogs to him. He smiled and knelt to pet heads. "Let's go for a walk," Sirius says and walks into the woods, thinking that once he got farther into the woods, he might shift into his wolf form. It's a large forest, and he figured no one would be out here so far from town. Even so, he was hesitant to even try. He hadn't been in that form for . . . many years. It was a little thrilling to think he might be able to hunt with his dogs out here instead of letting them hunt without him. In fact, his whole body seemed to come alive at the prospect of running around the woods, unused muscles finally being worked to exhaustion. He looked back and caught a glimpse of the house through the trees. He was still too close, Rowan could come out and join him any minute. He picked up his pace, jogging at first, then running. It would be so easy, he thought, to fall to all fours and race the dogs. he sighed and contented himself to this race for now, at least until he knew the lay of the land.

He watched her take a seat and thank him. "No problem, it's better than you getting a cold." He said in response as he disappeared from the doorway and went into the kitchen. He got out a water bottle from the fridge and then came back to his spot against the doorframe. "I'm guessing you feel better?" He asked her now as he twisted off the cap to the bottle.
