"Because I dont want to lose anyone like I did my parents. Or my siblings." Ratchet basically shouted at her. "Everyone I get close to ends up hurt one way or another. Its just not worth it."

Gabrianna looks at him. "That's not the way to look at others... My mom... she used to tell me a story about how when one leaves this earth, they don't fully leave... they are still there for you... they become what is called a guardian angel. Coyotes become guards of a place called Heaven.... they come down to earth to protect their children and those close to them..... I believe that story and thats why I do not feel so alone. My parents were killed in front of me.... the humans branded me when i was young to show i was to be a pet....." Gabrianna looks down and makes icecream.

Ratchet looked away as she spoke. He kept silent for a while thinking over what she said. "What if it happens again, if I get close to someone and something happens go them because of it."

"Everything happens for a reason.... I learned that if you try to protect that one close to you then it is not your fault they were taken off this earth. My mom said that the humans she met used to talk about a god that controlled everything in our lives and everyone elses. " Gabrianna smiles gently and puts ice in a bag. She puts the creamy mix in a smaller bag and she puts the smaller bag in the ice bag. "Here shake this up."
