The boy shook his head wildly as she mentioned turning his family. They wanted to be normal... why would he burden them? Then, Mikey heard the murmur. "Coron-.. nevermind." He decided it was better not to poke at it, it might make her angry again, and so far she was actually quite mellow. The halfling nodded and started toward the park. A squirrel or something had to be out... maybe an owl... ew, but then he'd have to eat feathers... maybe he could pluck them off?

The boy winced and he threw a glance over his shoulder. "I... I was going to ask what you meant... you said something about in a few more years, but then said that I might not even get that far.... what does that mean?' Mikey's voice was as innocent as a child's and it matched his sweet face as he stopped to look to her. "please don't be angry... im sorry.." He quickly diverted his eyes before squeezing them shut and began to tense his shoulders, used to being slapped by now.
