Riley gripped the tree. "What do you want?" He croak, afraid and sounding like a boy who heading his way through puberty.

"What do I want, Riley?" Adrian asked, parroting the words back to him in hopes of being infuriating as he slid out of the tree to circle the boy with a predatory smirk. "Mm, you've manned up some, haven't you? Now if you'd only do something less awful with your hair... Lowers the property value of your face and all that..."

Riley swallowed. He his knees started to wobble as he started to go weak. "Where's your pet?" He asked ina smart tone as he knew that he would need blood eventually.

"I don't need her," Adrian said, pausing behind Riley to observe him a moment. "It occurred to me that nannying a poor little human girl as she clung to life just so I could feed made me nothing but weak. Everybody else gets by fine in these woods, why shouldn't I? Don't want anybody getting the idea that i'm attached to the girl. She herself was starting to get delusional."

"Really now? I talked to her the other day. You're the one loosing your mind Adrian." He said.

"Perhaps I am," Adrian said with an idle shrug. "But I've decided to become my own man. Control my own life, whether or not that means getting that sweet little human meal whenever I want it. I'm done babysitting."

Riley was laughing so hard. He slapped his knee unable to control his laughter. Wiping away a single tear with his finger he looked at the vampire. "WOW you sure don't get that SHE has CHANGED and she doesn't need you.I over heard while I was half a sleep that they aren't gonna feed us that Ellie is only gonna get food while there won't be any animals.. face it Adrian. you've lost and you're trying to act like you've won. She doesn't need you anymore. YOU NEED HER!" He said smiling know the vampire would probably be very angry.

"Are you trying to convince me?" Adrian cocked amused eyebrow. "You think I'm not aware that she doesn't need me? Or that they're starving us? They're doing it to try and get at me. They've got this very strange obsession with me and that girl. As though it's some sort of deeply romantic fantasy of theirs. It's downright creepy, really," he added with a snort. "But I'm done being played. Which means that from now on, Adrian does what he wants."

"You won't last." Riley said smirking. He was getting sorta cocky now. "You can't survive without blood... now Adrian... what are you gonna do.. and why did you go for her in the first place?" Riley was smirking and no longer afraid. He knew he had a slight upper hand.

"Why is it that everybody is trying to convince me to pursue her. You can't survive without blood either, and yet I don't see you falling to your knees before her. And why is that?" Adrian asked, swerving back around to Riley's front to lean near enough to him to invade his personal space. "Why all the obsession with me and her, tell me. Who's bribing you?"
