His eyes burned as they welled up with tears. He wiped his eyes hastily, then stormed off, his hands jammed in his pockets.

She had been breathing shakily and her eyes were huge with fear. Avery's comment wasn't helping. What if he told a bunch of humans, they would put us in cages, run experiments on us. She hadn't realized she had been screaming all of these things. She was worked up and was trembling all over.
