Eli stared down at himself, frowning slightly. He hummed quietly to himself and took his knife out. He used the hunting knife to cut a part of his pants off so they would be shorts.
Gray stared up at the sky blankly, entertaining her mind by imagining figures that the clouds are shaped like. Of course, that source of amusement didn't last long, as she quickly became bored with that. "So... Do you think the people are gonna come back eventually?" She asked.
Eli turned so his back was to her. He crossed his legs and stared at his hand, focusing. Soon a small flame sprouted on his palm. He gave a small half smile as he watched the flickering flames.
After a while of silence, she looked over to make sure he hasn't died or anything, and the first thing she saw was a flame dancing on his palm. Her eyebrows shot skywards, and she slowly pushed herself into a sitting position, mostly wondering where the fire came from and why Eli wasn't freaking out about it. She didn't say anything, just watched.
Eli sighed softly and lowered his head, letting the flames light his dark hair. He clenched his fist, extinguishing the flame on his palm, and making smoke float up. He glanced behind him, and jumped slightly, quickly forcing the flames in his hair to die down as he saw her.
"...What?" Gray's eyebrows were furrowed. "Was I just seeing things, or were you playing with fire?" She asked slowly, not quite sure what she was hoping for as an answer.
Gray frowned. "But it looked so real." She argued, noticing how nervous he suddenly looked. She knew that there had to be something he wasn't saying, considering how anxious he seemed, but she had no idea what.
