I hugged Ayase back, trying not to cry, "I always thought he'd be strong enough to resist." I whispered in her ear.

I squeezed my eyes shut, "But he's not dead. He's possessed by the shadows. There's no going back. He's like this forever."

I sucked in my breath and opened my eyes to see some shadows slowly getting closer. "Yeah, ok." I choked out and slowly got up. I picked up my brother and started to walk back to the house. The shadows were still following me.
