Veda cringed with a small hiss through his teeth. "W-well why don't you tell me about yourself, so we're not complete strangers to each other." He tried his best to attempt a amiable smile, still cringing.

"If you have a better idea, let me know." I say to him. I tap my chin with my fingers and think. I'm sure there is a humanless bondmate somewhere. But our highly trained horses are fast as lightning. Or close enough.
"We'll take horses. We have special horses only trained in speed and agility. Extremely intelligent." I pat Vidar's shoulder and say, "Go on, I'll see you later." She makes a loud sound and takes off towards the distant trees. She doesn't like staying in the kingdom very long. People make her anxious. The only time she likes being near anyone except me is in battle.

Jake Lockwood
Jake rolls his eyes, beginning to get very tired of the North, "I'm sure they are, princess." He says, using his inaccurate nickname for Rose once more. "So you said that this trip will take a couple days and the next convoy for the East is leaving in the morning; can I just leave the group and find my way there?" He asks, not for permission but he needed a general idea of the terrain and distance.

Flint Lockwood
Flint makes his way out of the city, after a little searching he finds a spot near one of the outer walls to sit down and pet Nova.

Rose:
It takes a lot of my self control not to smack him or get angry visibly. "Yes the next convoy is leaving in the morning, bringing our part of one of the trades. If you leave them, you will get lost. If you go with me, I have a short cut. If you're up for sailing. There's a large lake in between here and The East, and the convoy goes around it in their route. I can take you across, though. If you'd like." I shrug and look towards the sky, which is getting a little darker. The sun is close to setting.

Jake sighs as he reaches up to his head, placing Merlin on top with both hands cupping the back of it. "Fine, Princess I'll stay with you until then." He says, followijg her gaze up to the sky, "How long until this guy is Vidar's size?" He asks, scooping the bird off of his head and looking down at Rose curiously.

I shrug. "It depends, really. In a month or two he should be nearly as big as Vidar. Vidar's a year or two old now, and definitely full size." I tap Merlin's feathery head gently. "Males grow faster than females for some reason. And you're smart for staying with me. It's not like I run this Kingdom or anything." I shake my head with a teasing smile.

Jake nods attentively during Rose's explanation of Merlin's growth, "Hear that, bud?" He asks the small bird, lifting it to his face, "We'll be soaring around up there before you know it!" He says before gently stowing Merlin in his hood once again. After a moment he looks down at Rose, "How could I forget, princess? You mention it every three seconds." He replies, jabbing her shoulder softly. "Y'know, you're pretty cute, Princess, why's a girl like you ruling a kingdom all alone?" He asks, more to make conversation thean anything else.
