She giggled a little. "Interesting indeed." She said softly in his comment in regards of River. She wondered if it might be possible that the King was actually rather taken with the strange girl. Nova knew her sister was certainly pretty enough, but her odd behavior was to much for most people. Nova though on this when she noticed where Skylars gaze had wandered off too. "It's getting worse, isn't it?" She said, almost in a whisper as she put her and on the kings arm and leaned a little closer, as to to not be overheard. Nova, despite what some might believe, was fairly well informed on the current politics and had not missed to growing animosity towards the young king

"Yeah...I just don't get what I did wrong I've been perfect to the city from what I've heard..." He said to her looking down into her pretty eyes his now showing his great tiredness, " Someone tried again this morning, but thanks to River nothing to serious happened." He said not going into to much detail about what had really happened
" I hope it won't be soon but they'll try to hurt people around me as well you know...You could be in danger with my other trusted nobles." his gaze went back to her as he hid away his worry once more,
" But things like this shouldn't be discussed at a party surely.."

She gazed up at the king with worried eyes and bit her lip.
"Well thank goodness for River. Poor thing must have been scared to death. She hates violence." Nova said softly.
"And I'm not afraid, not for myself anyway. You however, really must be more careful. Perhaps we should go somewhere else to discuss it." Nova continued. There was just a tinge of hope that the King might actually leave these parties that she knew he hated and just be with her. She lavished in being his little confident when he was worried.

He glanced back at his line of suitors and his irritated looking Adviser,
" how about you take care of them for me?'' He told the man looping a arm through Novas their Icy outfits blending well together, he lead her out one of the side doors onto a balcony over looking the city's night sky.
" Sometimes I wish either of my parents would come back to help me with this city..."

Nova
She couldn't repress the small grin when he left the others and linked arms with her. Once outside, Nova leaned against the side of the balcony and frowned, the moonlight shimmering against her almost as if she were glowing.
"I know it's been hard. You're doing so well though! They just don't understand yet." She said sympathetically. She watched the king closely. It was her job to cheer him up, so she had to be cautious about what she said. She bit one of her dainty little fingers, trying to think of how to make him happy, which seemed to be no easy task on most occasions.

He leaned on the balcony's edge beside her brushing back his hair, for now, white hair,
" You always know what to say don't you?" He smiled again a bit more happy for now as he focused only on her a sliver of awe in his eyes as he moonlight struck her just right

She laughed a little and closed her eyes.
"I do try." Nova said with pretty pink blush that quickly faded. Her big blue eyes opened once again and she met his gaze. Nova knew he had been staring and was enjoying the attention. There were only a few things she enjoyed more than being admired.
"I just wish there was more I could do." She said softly as she brushed back, yet another stray epic of hair from his face

He averted his eyes from hers quickly squinting his eyes as he saw the black smoke curl quickly around the street corner into the darkened park, he took a step away lacing his hands together nervously as he paced a little,
" Nova?...I've know you for a long time haven't I?and can trust you completely right?" He asked

She frowned a little and balled up her fists a second, butt quickly regained her composure.
"Of course your majesty. My loyalty to you can not be swayed." Nova said dutifully. There must be some reason the king looked as though he had just seemed a ghost. She wished he'd stop pacing like that, if someone saw him they'd probably wonder what was wrong with him and that would just added to the list of weaknesses some people seemed to be keeping

He stopped and took her hands in his,
" There's been something wrong with this city for a long time...A secret I'm not supposed to tell anyone but mostly because It'll make me seem crazy..." He paused His red eyes giving a small flash, " In the engines of the city things are beginning to fail...there hasn't been people down there in centuries..only things working the Gears, but I think they've gotten up into the city. I've seen ghosts around town, in the castle they've abducted people from there homes...That's why I've recently been attacked people think I'm to blame." He felt as if he was going insane,
" I-i'm going crazy aren't I?"He asked voice breaking for a second
