Nova
Ah, there it was the dreaded question that she would have preferred to avoid. However, she had anticipated this question for quite some time and was fully prepared. Nova bit her lip once again as the tears started to form again.
"I-I don't want to speak ill of him, h-he was so kind to me before." She stammered out guiltily. Nova looked up from the floor and met the kings eyes.
"You wouldn't tell anyone though, would you? No, of course I can trust you." She said with conviction. The tears were still falling down her porcelain cheeks gracefully as she continued her show.
"I assume y-you've heard my husband has been Ill for quite some time." She said gravelly.
"But what nobody knows is that-" she broke off into a sob as she buried herself in the kings embrace once again.
"Oh god, it's to awful!" She moaned. Nova took a deep breath as if to calm herself.
"The sickness has poisoned his mind! It's not his fault! You have to believe me" Nova stated passionately, now meeting the Kings eyes as she defended Lord Chancy. That line had almost been quoted directly from her little sister after the infamous 'accident'.
"A-and h-he hurts me. It's been going on for months now, that's why I've been spending so much time at the castle." She said softly as though she were ashamed
"And you, you've always been so kind to me and- Oh god I'm a horrible wife, I should be punished! How could I ever be forgiven for my selfish crimes!" She gasped as she drew away from the king and turned away as if she were disgusted with her own behavior
