Ana looked down at him, leaning on the mast again. "I won't fall." She assured him. And she meant it. On the ground she wasn't very graceful, but it was a whole other story with climbing. She'd never fallen before. She swung her hand, gesturing for him to come too.

Matthew
He shook his head. "No thanks." He said. He didn't want her to think he was scared, but he didn't want to risk his life like that. He could swim well, but even a grown man couldn't survive against those massive waves.

Ana looked back down, holding her stance, getting ready to climb again. She sighed, discouraged that he didn't follow. But as she looked around, this did look pretty dangerous. She sat, letting her feet swing. It reminded her of just sitting on an ordinary branch on a tree. She wasn't afraid.

Matthew
He looked out to the sea, watching the waves crash against the ship. They sent salty mist onto his face, but he didn't mind; he was used to this life.

Ana kept her eyes on the horizon, not expecting to see land or anything. She just thought it was cool to watch for some reason. She observed as a layer of fog came in and eventually engulfed the ship. She looked down, attempting to see the people below deck, but the fog was too thick. She carefully came down the mast.

Matthew
He sighed in relief as he heard Ana come down from the mast. "Finally." He said.

"What?" Ana laughed, when she found Matthew. "Were you afraid I fell?" She asked sarcastically. She went to the railing and tried looking at the water. She saw nothing, only heard the waves. "So how do they know where they're going now?" She wondered.

Matthew
"I didn't think you'd fallen, I was just waiting for you to come down. And they know where we're going from the compass, silly. And we won't run into any other ships; they have a new device called a radar." He said.

Ana looked back at Matthew with a perplexed look. "A what? Radar?" She repeated. It sounded like science fiction to her. But she didn't dwell on it too long. She quickly changed the subject. She looked around at the few men on deck. "So what do I need to do?" She asked, her hands clasped behind her back. She wanted to help somebody in some way.

Matthew
"Nothing, for now. But tomorrow, we'll sweep and mop the deck and other little small things.
