It's been six months. Six months since you last saw your parents. Six months since you saw your friends' smiling faces. Six months since you've breathed the scent of fresh air; been graced with the gift of freedom. You never realized how much you took these little things for granted when you were still living your average, day-to-day life. However, now that you're sitting on the firm and stripped mattress of your so-called 'bed', you realize what it's like to be caged. This isn't a room, despite how much it appears to be. There's a dresser, a bed, another room with a toilet, carpeting on the floors, and even a window (although it's barred). But this room isn't your room. It isn't a room in general. It's a cell.
Outside, they've been looking for you. Police investigators, SWAT teams, even the FBI got involved at one point when it was realized you weren't the only one taken. They believe there's a serial killer at stake, but you know that that's not true. The government would never suspect themselves of a kidnapping, now would they? Or are they fully aware, and are they doing all of these useless searches to lower suspicion? Either way, you haven't been found.
Everyone's about to give up. You can feel it burning in your gut.
Just as the feeling was about to become unbearable, they said it was time. You had asked what it was time for, whether it be in anger or sadness or even hopelessness you had not a clue. However, no matter how your words sounded, you were given an answer.
"It's time to fledge."
