Alex gulped and hesitated before slowly inching his hand back into hers. It felt comforting, a far throw from any comfort he'd ever felt before, especially seeing as his life had revolved around the Government. He smiled shyly at Pepper, "Um, okay."

Cody nodded slowly, trying not to bonk heads with her, and he lost a bit of the tension in his shoulders. But he still remained upright. He smiled at her. "That better?" He asked softly.

Myra nodded slowly. "They are so pretty..." She said happily

Maria grinned and nodd?ed, "Much better!" She leant her head forwards slightly and kissed Cody on the cheek.

Marco smiled, "Actually they are...I come along here so frequently that I barely look any more." He looked down at Myra, happy that she was so content and no longer with the Government. She didn'tdeserve their treatment, sh was just so innocent and too young, way too young. To be honest, Marco was curious about what exactly they had done to her, but chose the sensible option not to mention it. "So, maybe we should get you a student id card and your timetable? The office is open even on weekends so we can go now."

Pepper's warm and kind smile does not fade and she leads Alex down rows upon rows of bookshelves. "This place is huge," she says quietly. "There are so many books and hidden places that it makes me want to never leave." Pepper's voice comes out soft and gentle, and she looks back at Alex, hoping to not scare or startle him as she leads him into an older part of the library.

Alex nodded in awe as he fell into step next to Pepper. His eyes roamed around the shelves upon shelves of books, all of which he wanted to delve into and explore. It took most of his willpower not to let go of Pepper's hand and throw himself towards the book cases. There had never been such an amazing collection at the Government base, this was his idea of heaven. As he was looking around, his eyes suddenly caught Pepper's and he smiled, feeling a tinge of heat rushing to his cheeks before he looked down at the floor with embarrassment.

Pepper listened to their quiet footsteps begin to match her heartbeat, and her eyes leaped away from Alex's the second he looked down. She could feel a fluttering in her stomach, and Pepper tried looking at all the different titles that shelved the wooden cases around them. It was truly amazing, the books organized into fiction, and nonfiction, and then subsections like religion, mythology, science-fiction and so forth. "Have you ever been here before?" Pepper asked, feeling Alex's grip occasionally slacken as if he were about to run off.

Alex's head quickly snapped up to look at Pepper. He shook his head, "No, I'm new to the base. I've barely seen anything." He looked along the rows and rows of novels, remembering passing hundreds more before. He wondered out loud, "How big is this place?"

Cody beamed, and gave her a small peck on her cheek too. "thanks." He said, still beaming brightly.
Myra
Myra glanced at him. "Oh. Really?" She had no idea how anyone could become used to seeing something so pretty. Then another question tugged at her mind. "How long have you been coming here?" She asked, glancing around, admiring how the lights hit the colors on the pictures.

Marco considered for a second. "Well, I'm thirteen, and we come here from age three. So ten years. The pictures change every so often though. But still, if you see something over and over again for at least four or five months, it gets a bit boring."

Maria smiled and shuffled down slightly so that she could lean her head against Cody's shoulder. She looked up with a little concern, "I hope I'm not hurting you sitting like this?"

Cody shook his head, still beaming, His leg was a little numb, but... He wouldn't trade this moment for the world.

Myra looked at him with wide eyes. "Can you remember all ten years?" She asked. She wasn't sure how far back most people could remember, she could remember all the way back to four years... But that had been because her memory had been stolen. She remembered waking up, and staring at the cool metal, trying to figure out where she was, and how she had gotten there. And getting more and more afraid, unable to put reason together... And then the scientists had come, all happy and welcoming, telling her what her name was, and that she was special, and blahblahblahblahblahblahblah.... Until she'd finally snapped, and pushed one away, running for the door.
