All over the world exists a creature known to man, though fed by superstition and lies. This creature is known as a vampire, or better yet a blue blood. these creatures were damned to live eternal life on earth, forced to feed from the very people they loved. In this world there are four types of people; Red bloods, Blue bloods, Silver bloods and Half-Bloods.
The Committee, or the New York Blood Bank as known by the mortals, is the Blue Blood shorthand for the vast number of charitable causes, educational institutions and foundations that are run by the Coven membership. The Committee has been responsible for the preservation of some of New York's most important landmarks and has funded many of the city's most prestigious cultural institutions. What the mortals do not know is it is all a lie, one big, and very expensive cover up.
Red bloods are humans, though weaker than a blue blood or silver blood still are essential in the balance of life. Mortals are used by blue bloods as a life source, being fed off the blood and memories of there familiars. When a blue blood chooses to preform Caerimonia Osculor or "the sacred kiss" they must have the consent from the mortal for once the kiss has been preformed the human and vampire are bound forever. Mortals also serve another purpose, they are used as servants who help the vampires in whatever they need. Being bound to that family for years, forever unless the blue blood family choose to turn away from human assistance.
Blue bloods are the good and uncorrupted. When Lucifer was banished to the earth his former followers went with him. However once on earth many chose to walk away and never listen to him again. Blue bloods never die according to the committee, however recently there have been attacks. Immortals showing up dead, drained of any and all blood. Being hunted by Lucifer's followers. Blue bloods have certain powers which manifest in different ways in different beings. The most common powers include hyper-intelligence and supernatural strength. Most vampires can read human minds, but only the most powerful ones can perform mind control, known as the glom. Some can shape shift, though it all depends on what you are able to turn into. Some can turn into fog, some animals and others can only change the features of themselves. The rarest ability is to stop time, however only one Blue Blood has ever done this.
Half bloods are similar to blue bloods in a lot of ways, however it has only happened once so we have little information on the matter. In the formal terminology they are known as Dimidium Cognatus. While Blue Bloods can not reproduce with one another, they can reproduce with a Red Blood but is looked down upon heavily.
Silver bloods called "Croatan", which means "Abomination". Early in Blue Blood history, Lucifer and a small host of his loyal followers broke off; they didn't want to follow the code of the committee. Lucifer and his followers discovered that performing Caerimonia Osculor on fellow Blue Bloods made them more powerful however turned their blood silver. They are insane, by drinking the blue bloods to full consumption, or draining all of their blood they have the memories of so many vampires in their heads. With the newest discovery of fully consumed blue bloods we know one thing for sure. They are back again and Blue Bloods are dying- for good

-Can only have several human familiars at once
-Can only feed on them once every 48 hours
-You must have the Red Blood's permision to perform Caerimonia Osculor
-Only 400 blue bloods alive at the same time
-Do not interfere directly with human political affairs
-It is forbidden to perform Caerimonia Osculor on other Blue Bloods
Immortals go through three stages during their life;
Expression happens during Age 15-21, "The Sunset Years". This is the most vulnerable time in the cycle of Expression when they shed their human selves for vampire ones. Their appearence remains the same, however their blood turns from red to blue. During this time certain side affects of the change may happen such as Regenerative Memory Syndrome, a cataclysmic event in the brain that produced the subsequent "time-warp" effect. "It's like déjà vu but from a past life. Part of you is in the present, but the conscious part is in the past; resulting in blackouts this normally only happens when you're in a location you visited in the past life. It's brought about by the Sangre Azul ,or "expression".
Evolution
The physical shell expires when you choose, normally after 100 years or if you have been injured. This is called resting, the committee gathers a sample of your blood until you are called up for the next cycle. During this time your face changes in order to prevent suspicion from the mortals.
Expulsion
Their mission was to evolve to a point where God could forgive them and take them back into Heaven. Although this has never been known to happen, it is still a dream of many immortals.
New Blue Bloods often come across dogs. These dogs are their guardians during the Sunset Years They're ministering angels who make sure the Blue Bloods make it to the next stage intact. When in trouble they will appear to try and protect you. They can sense silver bloods and will often growl or bark at them.
Illuminata is a Blue Bloods' glow, and inner light, looks like they were made of translucent marble which aids them in the night and makes them visible to one another, mortals cannot see the Illuminata.
Red Bloods think vampires have fangs in their canines, but they're in the back of the mouth. The wisdom teeth descend on command, if a Blue Blood concentrates and pictures them lengthening, they protrude downward. Although they are small they are very sharp. They are used to perform the sacred kiss.
Blue Blood twins were meant to be together, as lovers. In modern times, twins are still born in the same families, blood-bound to each other; but though a change, one twin would assume the role of spouse. They are blood-bound to each other without one they cannot survive. Whomever breaks the bond falls into a comma, never waking, dying or living.
