Echo looked up, her expression dark. She hadn't even jumped at the sound, she just looked at the unexpected visitor with a cold gaze. He wasn't frightened, which means he hadn't seen everything. 'He saw me fail, though.' She reminded herself, and scowled, small flames erupting on the ground in a circle around Parker. But then Echo takes in a deep breath and they dissipate. Regaining control of herself, because for her control was key, she stood up and looked to Parker, but made no move to help him up. "Hello..." She said evenly, suppressing her anger and frustration; Parker didn't deserve to get the backlash. "What were you doing here?" She asked suddenly, glancing up to where he had fallen from then back to him. "And more importantly, in a tree of all places."

Parker seeing the flames appear around him, only for a second, caused him to sit up, suddenly more alert. Hearing her tone at first, he wondered if he should just leave. But as she continued the conversation, he decided to see what would happen. "Needed a breather, and what better place then in the source of all air?" He joked, not really knowing what else to say, My bird senses wanted a tree, so I chose a tree? He thought to himself. "What about you? And are you okay? I saw you get flung back" He commented, avoiding directly asking her what the hell flung her back.

Echo smirked softly, seeing him startled by the flames. Everyone was. His explanation didn't make all that much sense to her, and if it was a joke she wasn't really in the mood to laugh. 'Your sense of humor was never that great anyways.' She reminded herself, then sighed as she saw through his question. "Yeah, it happens sometimes...." 'More often than I would like.' "Powers backfire sometimes, you know?" She knew it happened to other people, and that hers was a complicated and difficult one. Controlling an element requires enough skill, but with that ontop of harnessing a human emotion, it seemed near-impossible at times. But he hadn't seen what she could do, so he didn't fear her yet. And she wanted to keep it that way, just for a bit.

Parker expression turned flat when she didn't really don't show any emotion to his answer. "Well anyways, I get what you mean, once I turned myself into half cat, half parrot. You can imagine my parents response to that." He chuckled, remembering the incident. Looking at her, really looking at her, he sensed something wrong, but decided to ignore it for now, he didn't want to intrude. Standing up, he brushed his back off and leaned against the tree.

As she pictured it, it teased a smile out of her. As she sensed his gaze on her she looked down and sighed at the charred grass by her shoes, the smile vanishing. Sure, he messed up, but not as terrible as she did. If she couldn't get a grip on her powers, they'd be all but useless, not to mention even more unpredictable. "I'm Echo." She said finally, trying to shake the dark thoughts away. But it was useless, and she knew it. They followed her everywhere. She looked up from her feet to him, her emerald eyes glinting. "This is my first year here...." She added, knowing he wouldn't recognize her.

She giggled and watched him look for her name. She followed him closely, memorising the way. "Why would they chase you out anyway? Anybody would be lucky to be in the presence of The Troublemaker." She bowed and giggled then pushed his shoulder gently. 'At least I would' she thought with a grin.

"I'm Parker," he replied, and soon added with a smirk, "Second year". Parker reached his hand out to shake hers, stepping forward. Feeling confident in himself, he wondered if he should ask what she was doing before he had intruded.

He laughs. "Well, one time I may or may not have put hot pink hair dye in their shampoo...." He grins. "Hey, it was Breast Cancer Awareness Month! And besides, it was temporary...." he smiles. "Plus a few other things I probably shouldn't mention as to bring up old grudges... Plus "no boys allowed". You know, besides the "hot" ones. Unfortunately that doesn't mean literally." He winks, his hair flaring up for a moment, then he grins at her and gestures to her door. "Well, here we are. You should've gotten a key at the office.....

"Cool it bird-cat," She says with disdain at his smirk, "you're just a year older than me." She rolls her green eyes. She eyed his hand for a moment, as if inspecting a poisonous snake, then reached out and shook his. After she let go she looked at him for a long moment. "So, you're a shapeshifter? That means you're in Cambarie I believe..." She noted, still getting the houses a bit mixed up in her head. That would certainly explain why he was in a tree.

Cana giggled a little at the image of a bunch of pink-haired girls walking around. "Hey, good intentions though." she shrugged. She perked up at the word 'hot' and her cheeks went a light shade of red. "Well... You are hot..." she breathed hoping he didn't hear. She fumbles with the keyring that she had attached the key to and unlocked the door. She threw in her bag and locked the door as she came out to meet Hayden again. "why don't you show me around a bit?" she suggested lightly as she didn't want to get lost on her first day.

Parker nodded, "You would be correct, or I've been in the wrong house for a whole year" He said, smiling. Looking at her, she wondered what house she was in, obviously not Cambarie, he would have saw her previously, when everyone was signing in. "What about you Echo-echo-echo?" Parker asked, his voice getting quiet each time. "What's your power?" He continued, hoping to find out what she was doing previously. It couldn't have been to bad...right?
