No one knows who, or what caused it. It could have been caused by a spark igniting a gas explosion, or even a small lit match accidently being dropped into a pile of leaves. All we know is that it wiped out much of our world. We never expected a disaster as strong as this one to be the end of our world as we know it. People were predicting that the planet would be flooded in a massive rain, the sun would explode, or even aliens would come to abduct us all. No one expected it would be caused by one little flame.
But that little flame didn't just wipe out our world.. it begun a new one. More dangerous then it was before. After much of humanity was wiped out, mutated animal cells from a hidden research facility were exposed to the world. They quickly adapted to the earth, and evolved into creatures more dangerous then the dinosaurs.
Along with the animals evolving, so did humans. Half of the remaining population of humans were exposed to a bacteria which entered through the nose and took over a part of the brain. It then gave the carrier abilities that normal humans don't have. Some gained the ability to shift into other creatures, while others could even withold the power to control the elements.
Though this planet suffered great loss, a new world is rising out of the shadows.
