Ember stops at a clearing, where she can smell the remains of a small camp fire. "Is this where you left them?" she asks, looking over her shoulder at Velta.

"Sounds like john..." he thought out loud. He wondered if his dad was the same as John, if he was abused by his dad just like himself. He sighed knowing what the kid was going through, having to sneak out or make no mistakes at all. He looked at the girl a bit worried. He watched the boy run home until he was out of vision.

When Max got home his father was passed out in his recliner. He slowly walked upstairs to his room and locked the door. He looked around his room and saw that it was trashed. His eyes widened in fear and he ran over to his bed and lifted his mattress. He was horrified to see that the picture he had of his mother and brother was missing. He started searching his room vigorously

'I have to go help him, put him out of his misery' he thought. He wondered if he should go. He decided to and looked at the girl "Stay here..." he said as he started to glow shifting into his fox form. He sniffed the air and dashed after the boy's scent. He reached a house and climbed up a tree. He saw the boy in his room through a window and wondered what he was looking for.

Mac was disheartened when he did not find the photo. Just then a loud pounding on his door made him jump "MAXWELL open this door NOW!" His father yelled. Max flintched and opened it quickly. His father put the photo in his face "are you looking for this" he hissed befor slamming the door behind him. Max backed up into his closet door "answer me!" His father shouted "y...yes" max said nervously. His father grined before tearing the picture into tiny peices and throwing them on the ground. Max wanted to stop his father but was to scared to do so. He watched horrified as his father tore up the picture with a smirk "what did I say will happen if I found out you had hidden pictures from me?" His father said coldly. Max started quivering slightly before his father lunged at him and started attacking him.

His glowing orange eyes turned to black coldness. He leapt from the tree and shifted into his normal form and broke through the window Landing on the boy's dad, "WHAT THE HE** ARE YOU DOING?!?!" He said coldly as he fell to the ground with the violent dad. He got up and stared at the dad with no emotion at all. "Max, you better make a run for it..." he said quietly to him as he kept his eyes locked on Max's dad.

Maxs dad glared at Roxas "stay out of our buisness" he snapped. Max was still curled up on the floor quivering

He smirked and grabbed Max. He carried him on his shoulder like he was a sack of potatoes but was cautious and gentle with him. He ran downstairs and dashed out the front door and began to run from the house. He began to run back to the park they were at earlier and saw the girl; from earlier still there.
