"Jinx never had the mind for chess, my good son," said Kaiiyen as she placed a hand on her husband's shoulder. "Ah, Prince Niju. I suppose you've met my husband and children. I'm surprised you all fell for my act- it was one of the worst I've done. Me wanting to be human, or at least wanting to be noticed? Please, my family and I are in story books all around. The family will come and get you when you're asleep if you're a bad child. I'm surprised you didn't remember me sooner." She turned her eyes to her son and daughter. "Mako, Jinx, I trust you've been good while I've been away."
Jinx rolled her eyes at her mother's comment. "That's because Mother thought it was sensible for me to learn how to sew," muttered the female, rolling her eyes. "I've been fine. I don't know how Mama's Boy over here got along without you."
Victor rolled his eyes. "Stop the bickering, all of you. Niju, your move, if you're not still in shock about your 'guardian angel' being my wife."
