Freak of Nature (Semi-Lit)

Iza got inpatient. She wanted her reward NOW. She started to bite on the bars of her cage, making dents in these. She made all kind of noises to attract attention. Her trainer was nowhere to be seen. When she caught the smell of a street cat walking around the tent, she tried to get to it, obviously being stopped by the bars. Frustrated, she started spewing fire again.

Max
He smiled and watched the man and glanced at Mila. He smiled watching her as well. He blinked at her playful actions and looked around before tensing hearing william "she wants to play? How do I play? What is play?" He asked. He never was able to experience play in his life time. He was only tormented and abused throughout his childhood. He cautiously out his hand on Milas head and ruffled her fur gently. His eyes held sadness in them as he did so.

William frowned at Max, unsure of whether the boy was joking or not. "Play? It... It is what you do for fun when all the work is done," he replied slowly. "You know, like fetch." He stood, walking around the immediate area until he found a halfway decent stick. "Mila. Look here," he said in a playful tone, waving the stick to get her attention.

Mila felt the boy's hand on her head and found it's smaller size odd to her familiar large-handed pets. She could feel his nervousness, and sadness, within the hesitation and slowness of the pets of this hand. Her wide yellow eyes watched Max with a spark of intelligence and innocence. Something gleamed behind her eyes, motives and desires beyond that of the normal wild beast.
She was distracted from her thoughts, however, by William's call, and bounded over towards him, tail wagging wildly, eyeing the stick with hopeful eyes and playful leaps in the air.

Heehee, that made me grin!
She was a very intelligent, thoughtful creature-- nope, STICK.

William grinned, pleased to have commanded his pup's attention so quickly. He teased her with the stick for a short while, holding it close and then pulling it away to try to rile her up a little bit more. Then he walked over to max and crouched next to the boy. "Here," he said, holding the stick out in front of Max for him to take. "Simply throw it away a distance so that she can go get it for you. Nothing to worry about, for she is ever so small. She gets excited, but I doubt she could do much more than enthusiastically cover your pants with loose fur."

Max
He listened to William as he explained what play was. He then watched as Mila started playfully pouncing and wanting to play with the stick william picked up. He watched william hype her up more and then tensed when the man crouched beside him and held out the stick. He took the stick with a shaking hand "are you sure this is ok?" He asked. His big blue eyes held fear in them.

Mila scrabbled over to the stick as it was transferred. She ran in an excited circle infront of Max, looking from the stick in his hand to out infront of her a ways, and back and forth, and ran in another circle. She couldn't stand it, she wanted that stick!

[Falls]

William's green eyes shone with a sparkle of happy amusement as he watched Mila excitedly agonize over the suspense of the unthrown stick. "Come now," he murmured with a chuckle as he moved closer to Max. "She seems near to bursting, don't you think? Wait any longer and she'll lose her patience." He positioned himself slightly behind Max, placing one hand on his left shoulder and using the other to tap at the elbow of Max's other arm holding the stick. "Throw it in an open area so that she doesn't lose sight of it. Easy as... well, however that idiom goes."

Max
He watched Mila ailwntly for a moment and then listened to William. He tensed slightly when he seemed to get closer to him. He got even more uneasy when he went behind him slightly. His eyes widened in fear when william placed a hand on his left shoulder and then tapped his elbow. He started quivering in fear but threw the stick as far as he could before flinching away from the man "don't touch me! I didn't do anything wrong...don't hurt me please! I swear I didn't do anything wrong!" His eyes filled with even more fear and he backed away from him. He was still quivering and his eyes dulled. He was still fearful of adult men but he was more afraid if they touched him. His hair fell over his eyes and he fell silent and looked at the ground.

[Falls]

William lifted his hands away and drew them towards his thin chest, his green eyes wide with surprise. He hadn't meant to cause an outburst. He'd only wanted to be helpful. "Forgive me," he murmured hesitantly as he watched the shaking boy. "I didn't realize..."

Max
He tried calming down "n...no...forgive me..." He stammered and sat on the ground putting his hands on his head and squeezing his eyes shut breathing heavily. Tears welled up in the corners of his eyes "I'm sorry...I just...I just don't like getting touched..." He stammered before looking at william with pained, watery blue eyes. The fear from his eyes was gone but fear still grew inside him. He couldn't tell anyone about his past, it was to painful. He looked away "sorry...I...I get like this sometimes..." He muttered. He looked back at william gazing into his green eyes silently but longingly, longing for love, longing for affection, longing for just about anything. His twisted and tormented past didn't offer any comfort or kindness. Not even a speck of affection could be found. Finally the tears were set loose and he buried his face in his knees and cried softly.
