"Oliver, I'm not letting you do this!" he snapped, covering up the mark and jerking his arm away. "This thing is possibly my death sentence, and I'm not letting it hurt you. Please consider what you're getting into!"

October nodded, then went silent so Jirachi could call his family.

Oliver

"That's what I want to prevent." Oliver growled. "I don't want you to die. I have considered this- I very rarely make decisions rashly."

"But it could kill you, and I don't want you to die for a crime I committed," Raiden fired back.

Oliver

"It's not going to kill me, Raiden." Oliver growled. "I'm a lot stronger than you seem to think. I can handle it, at least until she finds a way to disable it or remove it permanently."

"Are you sure about this?" Raiden asked quietly, still seeming doubtful.

"Yes, Raiden." Oliver replied, not an ounce of doubt in his voice. "Please, let me do this."

"Only if you promise that if it starts to hurt you you'll let me take it from you," Raiden said stubbornly.
