James picked up right away how uncomfortable this made her. James followed Dominique's gaze to the strolling clouds. "The Sky is a wonderful thing, but sometimes I wonder if there is more to it than that. People have worshiped the sky since the dawn of humanity. What is it about the sky that makes us forget the world we are on. I was raised catholic so I know all the stories about a greater being, but what I don't understand is why? Why do people look towards the sky when there is so much to discover around them. There is some much life has to offer here on earth, yet people continually look towards the skies for their answers. It doesn't make much sense to me." James shifted his gaze to Dominique's eyes. The looked beautiful. "Why do we look at the clouds when there is greater beauty closer to us." At this moment Corin had grown tired and came and perched on James' head. He started pecking lightly. Hey! I'm hungry. Let's go get some bird seed. If there was anything romantic in the past moment Corin ruined it completely. James swiped annoyingly at the bird. "In a minute."

I follow the girl, this Mirague. She was pretty, mysterious, and seemed to know what she was doing and what she was talking about.
"your so easily trusting" Bear told me and I shrugged. Maybe I was, but she seemed to be one you needed to follow or you'd get lost. Besides, i had no other leads. I had fallen down a hole and had I not followed her, I would still be stuck down there. I'd be lost and then caught by the hunters. I owed myself to her, the least I could do at the moment was trust her.

Lynnette continued to gaze up at her walls, taking in the sheer beauty of them. The sketched birds were absolutely amazing. How life-like they were almost startled her. The feathers dazzled her. Then again, ever since she was a young girl, she had loved feathers. That was just one of the more unique things about her. Feathers were wonderful, nearly sacred to her. She was interrupted from her daydreaming due to a pesky ferret pawing at her face. She turned her head slightly, and she was face to face with Bandit. "I want to explore!" he shared with her, pawing at her face for a while longer. She then blinked, snapping out of it. "Uh...sure," she replied, standing up from her crouching position. She scurried over to the door, ferret on shoulder, and headed out to explore her new home. "Let's just lay low, okay? We're not exactly the most enjoyable people to be around, you know? Plus, sometimes I cannot understand everyone here. Some words and phrases are unfamiliar," she told him.

"Lexus..." I rolled the name around on my tongue, finding I quite liked the way it sounded coming from my lips. "I'll remember that..." I closed my eyes and felt the room blur and melt away into a large room with a high ceiling. There was a small kitchen like thing set off to the left with a fridge and to the right there was a seating arrangement. Two couches set in an L shape and then three bean bag chairs with two recliners and a coffee table in the middle of it all. There were no visible doors for I didn't want anyone taking off before i had explained myself and everything they needed to know.

As I was casting the spell the warmth I felt of the magic started to sear at my chest. Then it turned into a burning pain. I choked, feeling like I couldn't breath and fell to my knees. Can't breath! I sent a weak thought to my bonded pet and he leapt down quickly from my shoulder The spells were to much... He whispered and studied my eyes. They were closed in pain but I forced them open and our eyes locked. Suddenly the pain disappeared and I was left weak and trembling. T-Thank you... I thought shakily, squeezing my eyes shut once again to take a hold of myself and holding my head in my hands.

☄ I bit my lip, pondering on what he said. Suddenly my hand twitched and my fingertips touched James's. I blushed and looked away, grabbing my hand and rubbing it. "I-I guess.." She thought, completely oblivious to what moment she had just ruined, A nice warm mouse doesnt sound bad! She chirped. I shook my head and laughed.

Lexus gave a low chuckle at the saying of his name, "Mm... I see that you take delight in my name." A laugh bubbled up as he rubbed the back of his neck, Claudius giving an angry caw as his perch moved suddenly. The young man mentally noted that he would strike up a chat with this woman who saved him from the clutches of his insane family ties- and the water. As if Claudius had heard him make this thought, the crow glared up at him in what seemed like hidden jealously. Lexus was definitely his partner in mischief, and now he was focused on another person. Hey wise guy! Keep yer sappy thoughts to yerself, alright? Yer gonna make me sick. The snarky crow snapped, extending his ebony wings as if to emphasize his immense dislike.

Lexus only numbly nodded in response to the crow's bickering, for he was entranced with the idea of transportation. Surely it wasn't by car or anything motorized, seeing as how the entrance held no pathways for such vehicles. Oh! It was by magic, perhaps! Everything down here seemed to be strange and mysterious, down to the very smile Mirauge had given him. While he was musing over the thought of magic, he hardly noticed the change in scenery until he stepped backwards into the couch. Glacial icey depths examined the room. So he had been right, it was by magic that they were transported. He congratulated himself on his observations skills before facing Mirauge once again as she was done speaking.

A frown darkened his features as he noticed that Mirauge looked very worn out and seemed to be drained of energy from the recent spell. He was about to act before Claudius held him back. Don't interfere with the girly. You don't know anything 'bout magic and you could make it a whole lot bloody worse. The dark voice of the crow cawed in the recesses of his mind. After waiting awhile, it seemed the eye contact between the dragon and woman did solve, or at least he thought, the problem. "Are you alright, Mirauge? Perhaps you will regain your strength if you sat down." He spoke softly, words laced with genuine worry as his icy gaze swept upon her.

James was still flicking annoyingly at the little bird on his head. Corin would hop away nimbly then start pecking again. James heard Dominique laugh and joined in. After laughing for a bit he sighed and stood up. "Well he'll probably keep doing this until I feed him. Would you like to come with me?" James made his way to the door. Finally getting what he wanted Corin stopped his pecking and hopped down to James' shoulder. Corin now took this opportunity to do what he really wanted. Now that I have your attention, this has to stop. James glanced at the little bird. What are you talking about? He asked in his mind. You and this girl. You came here to escape the hunters, not to become a Romeo. Don't go giving your trust to someone who doesn't deserve it. the bird replied. A frown cam on James' lips. You're just jealous. You're afraid that I'll pay more attention to her and forget about you. I thought you were better than that Corin.
And I thought you were smarter than this. With that the bird became silent. It still did not approve of James' actions, but the little bird could do nothing. James looked back at Dominique. "Are you coming?"

☄ I looked questioningly at James's bird, sensing that there was something going on. I nodded slowly, "I better get this one some food too so, sure i'll tag along.." I said, my voice sounded almost cautious. Shriek hopped up on my shoulder. What's up?.. She asked, sensing my distress then she glanced at James, Ohhh...The guy.. She murmured. Yes. I said, hoping she wasn't too mad, I just dont know what to do with my feelings...I felt my shoulders slump a bit. Well why dont you get to know him a bit before swooning into his arms... She muttered, I wasn't swooning! I protested. She rolled her eyes and i could sense that this conversation was only temporarily over. "Lets go.." I muttered, getting up and heading to the door.

James made his way out into the hall. He waited for Dominique to come next to his side before moving on. James walked in silence as he went through his thoughts. He trusted Corin more than anything in the world, yet sometimes he wonder if the bird was just being selfish. But the little bird did have a point. He shouldn't rush into these things. James didn't know what to do. He never felt this way before. It seemed liked everything he had known before has been changed. This was all troubling him, so James tried to get his mind on something else. The hunters came up. it brought some relief to his conflicting emotions, but it was a disturbing topic all the same. Finally James couldn't take the silence anymore and questioned Dominique with his thoughts. "Why do you think we are being hunted? I know Mirauge said something about us being different, but we aren't different. I mean, I don't think we are different." James looked at Dominique. He didn't want to trouble her with these problems, but he wanted to hear her opinion on all of this.

☄ "Hmm.." I let out a sigh as James finally broke the long silence, "Well, we may not seem that 'different' to other bonders but to other people...I mean, who has a pet falcon?...Or griffin, or dragon for that matter?.." I questioned, "I mean, it may seem weird if someone is walking around the streets with a pet dragon on their shoulder.." I murmured, "Do you know what i mean?"I asked, unsure whether he caught what i was trying to say. It was a difficult subject to discuss, but i tried my best to put it into my own words. I had asked myself that same question a while ago when i was young and just starting to be hunted. I had always know i was special but...different? That was a hard adjective to face.
