"Oh." Luis replied, "You all have your own personal file with all your information on it. Before the Asylum and during your time in it. They may have started the files anew to track any info they got when we escaped. " he explained. "I didn't read into much detail about everyone but you all definitally had lives before you were Newborns."

Alc letn out a suttle muffled growl as a snapping sound came from his side. The serum was wearing off and his bones were slowly going back to their original places. He didn't say anything knowing that he could deal with the pain of a few shifting bones until they got to the safe house. Once there he could retake the serum.

The head doctor sat at his desk in silence. He set his elbows on the desk and rested his folldd hands on his chin. In front of him lay images taken of his patients when they decimated that small town. He also had pictures of the unevolved people who aided them in their escape. "Fascinating...." he said quietly as his grey blue eyes glaced at the images from behind his black square framed glasses. "Even now they still show their worth to me."

Ebony followed the others, dragging behind a little bit from her deep thoughts. She watched the ground, but didn't actually see anything aside from the unanswered questions that were racing through her mind. Who were these people she's walking with? What were their lives like? Did they even have lives? Did I? More and more kept coming, bombarding her soft brain tissue, causing Ebony the burden of a headache. She blinked several times, clearing her thoughts and trying to relax her mind and relieve it from the pain. Noticing her slacking pace, she quickly caught up and continued on with the group.
"If people bring so much courage to this world the world has to kill them to break them, so of course it kills them. The world breaks every one and afterward many are strong at the broken places. But those that will not break it kills. It kills the very good and the very gentle and the very brave impartially. If you are none of these you can be sure it will kill you too but there will be no special hurry."
~Ernest Hemingway, "A Farewell to Arms"

Alc turned to look at Ebony as she caught back up. He stared for a second before looking away making his stare almost unnoticable. He envied Ebony for her ability to become an animal then a human at will without any pain like he had.

"We're almost there" Cora said from the front of the pack. You could hear the buzz of civilization growing closer. It was still very quiet and would be unnoticable to people who grew up with it and are used to it but for this group of mutants who've never experienced this 'buzz' it was loud and obvious and impossible to NOT nottice.

Ebony was having a hard time with getting rid of her headache with the new buzz filling her ears. "Is that what that obnoxious sound is?" She asked, getting a bit irritated due to her discomfort and lack of sleep. Her footsteps became hurried with the news of a safe house nearby, there she'd probably be able to rest and maybe get something for her head- food would be nice too. Ebony would have just switched into a squirrel eat some seeds or nuts, but that was getting old and it wasn't aiding her with the amount of nourishment she needed in her human form.
