He saluted and walked off.

Matthew boarded the Kinship. He searched the deck then went to the brig and saw Chance. He quickly unlocked the door and gently picked her up. "Why are you here? Are you okay?" He asked and carried her upstairs.

Chance leaned against her brother silently.

Matthew set her on the stairs and started searching again. He saw Cowen. "Who are you?" He snapped drawing his sword.

Chance walked over and gently pushed her brother's sword down. "This is Cowen. He rescued me from kidnappers." She said calmly.

Matthew slid his sword back into its sheaf and offered Cowen his hand. "Well then, thank you for rescuing my sister."

Sarah sighed sadly.

Will walked off

I look at both puzzled, but accept the hand cautiously, "Um...sure..."

Matthew nodded then looked at Chance. "You okay?"

Chance flashed a smile. "Of course. Now get out of here!" She said playfully shoving him.

Matthew chuckled but obediently left.
