Adonis grinned and bumped her back playfully, the night itself might have been bad, but he was no enjoying the walk home and was glad to see his mate smiling again. He nodded enthusiastically at her suggestion and said, “That sounds great, I really need a good run. I haven’t been on one for a few days now, unfortunately having a job often kept him busy or too tired when the rest of the pack was out. He was glad he was able to help bring in money, but sometimes wished he didn’t have to work.
Corbin looked up at Mercy when she smiled at him but didn’t say anything, merely nodding in return and then continuing to brood silently. He understood why she didn’t want him killing humans, but it was still extremely hard for him to allow hunters to just walk away, especially after they tried to kill a packmate, he could still taste the boy’s blood in his mouth and it took a lot of control to keep himself from adding to it.
Draven nodded with a grin, “A pack run sounds wonderful.” It would help him get to know the territory better and it would also help him learn more of the pack as well by watching their movements and positions on a run.

But in the corner, at the cold
hour of dawn, sat the poor girl, with
rosy cheeks and with a smiling mouth,
leaning against the wall--frozen to
death on the last evening of the old
year. Stiff and stark sat the child
there with her matches, of which
one bundle had been burnt.
"She wanted to warm herself,"
people said. No one had the
slightest suspicion of what
beautiful things she had seen;
no one even dreamed of the
splendor in which, with her
grandmother she had entered
on the joys of a new year.
