Chance rubbed her arm and stared up at Soldier in fear.

Soldier flicked a knife out and glared at them both.

"Soldier!" I yell at him grasping the knife.
"Humanity has always been afraid of the dark. And as we age we learn that there really aren't any monster's in the dark. But that isn't true is it? Humanity is afraid of the dark because it is the embodiment of ourselves. Our fears, hates, and demons. And so we continue, somewhere in our hearts, to fear the dark."

Soldier jerked away from Cowen and slashed at Chance.

Chance ducked. "Soldier!" She cried in fear and stumbled backwards.

I catch his arm and pin it behind his back, "Soldier!"

Soldier hit Cowen with his free arm.

Chance ran to Soldier and threw her arms around him and hugged him tightly. She whimpered softly and rested her head on his chest.

Soldier's eyes flashed blue and he kissed the top of her comforting.

I look at them confused.

Chance winced in pain but continued to hug him.

Soldier's eyes were dark blue and he stroked her hair sadly.

I sigh, "Okay..."

Soldier gently detached Chance and his eyes instantly changed to black and red.

I see the change in eye color and I force a glass thin wall of air between them.
