Maya looked at him, sighing. He had known. He'd probably known for some time. She leaned forwards, holding back tears. Hugging him tightly she replied, "You're going to have to wait. I do love you, I'm just not ready." Then she sniggered. "You're going to have to wait for it to be legal, too. Do you even know my age?"

Thunder chuckled, "Do you think I care?" he asked teasingly, "Since when did I obey the laws??"

"Since never, but you're avoiding my question," Maya teased, her tone growing steadily lighter, "You don't know my age, do you? I know you're 19, give or take a few months. Your electricity told me so." She leaned back to look at his face, a large grin on her own.

"You're almost sixteen, love," Thunder said cockily, "Your heat told me so," he teased.

Maya raised her eyebrow at his tone. "Is that so?" she asked, "Well, I suppose I'll have to tell you that you're wrong. I am sixteen." She grinned. "You made me remember, today's my birthday."

Carter~
I rocked back and for on my feet outside, breathing in the air. I couldn't really remember the last time I've even been in a real house

Conner quickly made a circuit around the house, finally figuring out just how big it was. He couldn't smell any non-mutants inside, which was good, but he knew that some mutants worked for the government. But he couldn't do anything about that, not when he was this desperate for sleep. So he rejoined Carter at the front and went up the steps, then knocked at the door.

I yawned being oddly tired for just taking a nap, and sat on the steps. I rubbed my hands together and they got extremely heated then placed them on the cement causing a frying sound to occur. Then leaned back and relaxed

Conner glanced down and growled. "I don't think our new hosts will be particularly pleased by that burn mark there." He knew that he was probably nervous, and the boy certainly looked tired, but he was too exhausted to care.

I jumped a little, startled. "I uh I am sorry.." I wiped off my hands on the side of my pants leaving small burn marks on them too. I sighed and clasped my hands tightly in front of me. I looked up at Conner apologetically and nervously
