A guard opens the door and lets her in, his voice was a low rumble, "The president wants to see you, go straight to his office."

I just wanted to fly and fly until I died, I hated my human life, I just wanted to be a bird until my death. I flapped around, then I landed on the ground and started eating the seeds, every once in a while looking around for any danger. I pecked and found a few grass seeds, but when I looked up, I saw a peregrine falcon! I flapped full speed, the peregrine was chasing me.

"AAAAAAAAAA!!!" I screamed, I looked back, he was catching up fast! I shifted into a phoenix, and when I looked back, PHOOOOOOOO!!! The window exploded and I fell through it! I tried to get up, but I felt too weak, people were coming over to grab me...

Guards swarm over to the bird, knowing it was a kid. They clamp a collar around her neck which forces her to change back to human form and they throw her into a cage.

"No!" I cried "I'm not a human, I'm a bird!" I hated being a human, and I wanted to convince myself, but what I hated beyond being a human was being in a cage.
"Get me out of here! Please, get me out! I hate you ******s!" I screamed and yelled and shouted and hit the bars in anger and fear. In the end, since I saw everyone ignoring me, I slumped down, and tried to turn into any kind of bird, but it wouldn't work. I felt tears slide down my cheeks.

"I want to be free, please!" I yelled, soon I lost part of my voice, so I simply decided to stay silent.

Crimson looks up as the boy bounces back in, "Master, a random bird just crashed into the lobby, its a shifter kid." Crimson stands and nods, "Which lab?" The boy steps back and half cowers, "Lab 17." Crimson nods again and the boy blinks out. Crimson leaves his office and heads for the lab.

I see a man enter the lab, walking toward me. I start squawking as if I were a parrot or a macaw.

"Get me out of here!" I said, holding the bars tightly, and shaking my cage back and forth.
