Caleb smiled softly at the girl in his arms then looked at Demitri, "She's going to be. The first few days the mother is always more feral than normal simply from her protective instincts going into overdrive. Afterwards they're always drained, but she'll be fine. Just keep the people seeing these two to a minimum for a few days and then she wont act out, she'll be normal as she gets again" He chuckled softly remembering how odd Alese always seemed to him at first.
The little by slowly calmed down and started looking around again and whimpered seeing a tiny but of light on the floor from a crack in the blinds and reached for it gasping in fascination.
Caleb laughed seeing him "He's just like you were when you were young, fascinated with something that you shouldn't have been"

Jaden shook her head and stood up "Its nothing. Come on, lets go lay down, the suns coming up and that was a really long and draining night."

"Like my own old man, except I am a little more openly crazy. Don't be like me too much, Father is a little crazy when it came to protecting your mother " He said as he rocked his son. He then sighed, "Diana was here." He looked at Caleb, "she knows."

Jordan frowned but nodded, kissing her cheek. "Alright, you need rest."

Alese growled softly in her sleep and rolled over so her back was to the boys.

Caleb's eyes hardened listening to Demitri "how'd she figure it out?"
The little boy yawned and looked at his sister reaching for her and babbling softly.

Jaden stood without another word and gently rubbed her neck before lifting her head a little and turning it to see Jordan than smiled weakly.

"I have no idea... She hungers for knowledge more than power like the others...until she mentioned something else. She wanted Tanya and Darius dead." He said as he bounced his son.
The baby girl yawned for a second, a spark if red and black in her eyes before closing them and reaching for her brother.
Demitri smiled a bit and scooped the girl up from Caleb and placed them beside their mother. He kissed all of them on the head before leading Caleb out to the library. "She mentioned how Darius's property would go to you and Tanya's to her, she wants something Tanya has."

Jordan gave her a soft smile and scooped her up in his arms "your tired."

Caleb had followed Demitri and felt his anger rise. 'She wants my daughter....She'll die before I let that happen...' He shook his head and sighed. he sat in a chair in the library and rubbed the bridge of his nose. "Whatever it is, its got to be something important if she's that desperate as to tell you she wants them dead. taking a councIlmens life is a very dangerous thing though. Normal vampires," He shrugged slightly and leaned his head back sighing "Normals are easy enough to kill, even pures are as well.... but we elders aren't. In killing us you risk shortening your own life as well. I've never understood it, its just something I figured out one night after watching Tanya kill an elder to claim her seat...However the curse can work the other way as well and prolong the life, She's been lucky so far." When he re-opened his eyes they were grey and his hair returned to white. He slowly started braiding his hair to pull it back and felt his nerves relaxing slightly.

Jaden had flashes of her past hit her again making her flinch slightly before mumbling "A bit yes..."

Teh little boy watched his father and grandfather leave the room then started squirming and whimpered. Alese's arm moved and she pulled the twins closer to her in her sleep. He smiled softly looking at his mother than yawned, cuddled up to his sister, and fell asleep.

Demitri nodded softly. "I know. I have been doing a lot of reading since I took charge. You should have taken this, you would be in for a lot of surprises." He said, placing a massive, hand sewn, leather book next to him. "The First did a lot of note taking... Learned quiet a bit about each elders bloodline without even being near them. Tanya's line is the second most powerful, her line being created by him first. They seem to be just as power hungry and smart as we are, but it's in their hunger they fall. The nightshades feed more from knowledge than power over land and people, that's why Diana's grandfather was so useful to the First. Darius and Alvor on the other hand, the first noted how insane their lines were as well... Alvor is younger than you all, but sence he's second generation, he still poses a great threat. But he noted something about this curse you speak of... He noted how it works...the way I see It, it's like when a child is born he or she inherits the strongest aspects. If someone who's stronger kills someone who's weaker, they not only last this curse, it appears they get stronger. But if someone who's weaker manages to kill the stronger ie, it has deadly effects. They can't handle the new power and it desroys them." He sat across from Caleb, frustrated. He didn't know why Diana was so intent on gaining access to Tanya's land. He looked at Caleb, chuckling a bit at his hair. As angry as he still was, it brought him peace knowing that his father was not a monster, but a kind, powerful, and fair man. "Something's troubling you old man, what is it?"

Jordan raised an eyebrow and sighed, nuzzling her, "and something is causing you pain... What is it?"

Caleb instantly refused the book dropping it back on Demitri's lap and chuckled lowly "I have to leave again tonight and return home, but I want you to keep everyone here for now. If you need to hunt send the humans during the day. Tanya is still in the area, and has gained a taste for vampires as well as humans......and from what my shadows have told me.....Darius is no longer a problem, which is a bad thing."

Tanya's eyes snapped open. Her golden hair sparkled slightly even in the darkness of the cave as her powers pulsated off her. Darius was strong, and killing him had taken a toll on her, but not one she couldn't handle. She stood slowly and let some embers shoot from her hand into the darkness and smiled hearing a high pitched screech before it went silent.

Caleb screamed grabbing his head feeling one of the shadows get destroyed and trembled slightly. 'damn it....' He growled deeply and slowly sat back "Well.....Tanya figured out where the shadow was....so now I've completely lost track of her. The other two that are still out are still looking for Alvor and Diana." The rings in his eyes had went from 3 to 2 now showing one of the shadows was gone.

Tanya sat back down and looked into the darkness feeling bored.

Jaden avoided looking at Jordan and shook her head "Its nothing"

"Caleb!" Demitri said in worry when he screamed. He knelt beside him and growled lowly when he noticed a missing ring. "Hypocrite. You know it's dangerous to use your shadows to go after them. And she knows we're after her." Said as he got up and took some blood out of his cabinet. "Here."

"Jade I know when something is bugging...." He said softly

Caleb closed his eyes and shook his head "My shadows keep tabs on them, even when I know they're out on missions so I know if I have to deal with anyone later." He gently took the blood and sighed softly. "From the look of her though, she's why Darius is no longer around, and will be more of a challenge than ever to deal with. The only time I can get near her when her guards down is when she's visiting Alvor or he's visiting her. But even then there's only one time her guard is down, and while walking in on others no-longer phases me, those two make my stomach turn every time that I've walked in on them." he shook his head at the images and quickly drank the blood. As he did his hair went from a dull white to a brighter one that looked healthier.

Tanya hummed softly sitting in the dark and slowly lifted her eyes that looked like fire flickering in her skull.

Jaden closed her eye and wrapped her arms around herself. Its the same way she looked every time after Devan and she left the council before.

"There is no way in hell your facing her alone. Definitely with Alvor around... They will kill you." He said lowly, pouring him some more. "Where is it that you are going? Maybe I can help."

"The room full of pure lords get to you?" He asked softly.
