grinning like a she-devil on the inside, chaos
let himself school his face into a stone cold reflection.
"if you're going to play it that way, then bring it on,"
he thought, "hey hold up -- chef chaos? really?"
a slight frown curved down his lips as cheeks flared,
    ready to watch something burn.

"you girls and your petite appetites," he gruntled.

swiping open a cupboard he reached for two other plates,
scooping some toast loaded with fruit for the both of them &
pushed the dishes forward with an expecting look. draining
the now cool mug of tea, he set it in the dishwasher and
replied as cooly, "let's try to get them finished before we head
off, shall we? i'll pack for the day. meet you in front in 5

Raylan frowned even more at Riley’s comment but bit back his tongue, listening to him patiently. He glanced at the corner of his eye watching Lucid disappearing off into nooks and hidden corners with a sigh, rolling his shoulders and held the fruit basket with more care. Raylan looked up to Riley again and raised his hands, heaving the fruit basket and the slightly wrinkled papers up a bit in a reminding gesture. “I only gathered most of this from the media, there is never any information internationally but the locals are more open to these power bursts. I-I don’t really know if it’s effective or valid.” He explained, his voice shaking at first until he gulped and continued at a more level voice. “I’m planning to bring this up now actually...” He gave a small, weak chuckle. “I thought the fruits would be a nice breather so nobody is going to have a panic attack at it, though.”

“You bet their bucks that my croissants better finish up. These take way too much effort.” Aaro feigned a dramatic frown before cracking into a smile, finishing the last piece of his croissant. He brush his hands against his pants to shake off the buttery crumbs and enter the front room of the cafe. Aaro paused at the hidden message and let out a drawn sigh.

“I can’t believe it’s soon, we should have a study session at my place sometime for it. I focus more with a friend.” Aaro flashed a cheerful smile Jeremiah, hinting questions of where, who and when.he paused again, placing the decorative tray on the display case along with the mini sandwiches and plain doughnuts. Aaron noticed the glance, the lure in Jeremiah’s eyes to his ex before quickly flicking back to the assassin. He leaned a bit forward to lightly flicked Jeremiah on the forehead with his fingers. “But can you tell me how to do the equation for the circle problems?” Aaro lied smoothly, looking at Jeremiah with a teasing yet stern expression.

sitting in peace by the window, victorie felt free of all and any worries and nightmares that she almost felt like falling asleep. within seconds, she realised what she was about to do and blinked taking another couple of sips of her latte. no doubt by now eawyn and the others would be up if not than just getting up. placing her cup on the table, viki pulled out her phone and decided to message eawyn just in case she grew a little worried, although tori would know if her witch were worried as she’d feel it. ‘morning wyn, just out at voodoo cafe for a latte. xx’ she hit send and went back to her coffee. it wasn’t long before she froze as a slight chill ran up her spin. it was a familiar chill, one she only got when people where looking at her and she got a strange feeling that she knew who it might be. jeremiah! she thought as her lips parted ever so slightly and her eyes focused in front of her. her heart began to quicken in pace as the hairs on her arms rose. she felt her skin temperature increase gradually. damn how could he still have this effect on her? it’s not even like she wants to feel this way but more of her body automatically reacting to his presence. her grip round her cup tightened and her mouth closed as she gulped and tried to focus her senses. she could only imagine what eawyn would say if she were here and at that victorie scoffed with a small half-smile appeared on her face. she closed her eyes..

Genevieve perked up with excitement, nodding vigorously. "Totally, I heard the weather was nice out today." Sunshine and the breezy wind sounded so much better than spending the entire day in her room. Wincing, she took Chaos' return of the plate as a 'You must eat'. "Thank you," She ate as quickly as possible- which was a feat for her snail-like reflexes. If she could run back to her room, Gen was going to throw on whatever she could! It would be rude of her to make them wait. "I'll be right back!" Gen rinsed off her plate and hurried off to get dressed. Hopefully, they wouldn't mind, she hadn't expected to be doing anything today.

Nigel finished his morning routine, spitting out mouth wash before taking a moment to look in the mirror. Ugh... Why can my hair work with me? He asked himself as he hurried back to his room. Leaving the house looking like he just rolled out of bed? Not an option. Getting suited up, he pushed back his hair all neat and tidy. Checking his wrist, the watch told him he had just enough time to finish up before having to head out. "Great." Leaving again, he headed towards the front of the house- what was in store for him today?

“Thank you,” Eawyn whispered as Chaos made her a plate, how thoughtful. “Okay, out front in 5” she agreed as she used her fork and took a bite out of her French toast, her tastebuds savouring the taste of the delicious meal. As she watched Gen devour her meal, a friendly smile curved her lips, happy the witch would be joining them. “About time, I could use some sunshine in my life.”

As her phone buzzed beside her on the obsidian table, Eawyn carefully plucked it up with her hands as she continued eating. Her eyes lighting when she realised it was Viki, voodoo café? Sounded magical. Tilting her head, finished off her meal and quickly typed out a quick reply ‘morning Viki, enjoy the coffee! We’re heading off the markets, catcha there? xx’. Sliding the slim device but into her side pocket, the young witch rinsed off her dishes and popped them back into the dishwasher. Sparing a quick glance at her watch, a small ‘oh no’ escaped her lips as she realised she was a little behind schedule, just a little.

Chuckling at his friends' dramatic antics, Remy raised his eyebrows and sipped at his much-needed coffee. As he listened to Aaro’s response, his head slowly started tilting to the side in contemplation, “Your place? Only if we go through the park, I reckon Betty will have some study notes prepared, she usually has everything prepared a few weeks before the exams.”

Remy was aware he may have already revealed a little too much about his ex-girlfriend, she was a captivating distraction after all. At the light flick, a frown worked its way onto his tired features, his hazel eyes zeroing in on Aaro in understanding – get your head in the game. “The circle problem?” Remy trailed off, pausing before he continued, “I had a bit of trouble with that one too, all you have to do is locate the variable and then neutralise it. Once you’ve done that, it’s as easy as pie.”

Riley could sense he tell he was being a bit blunt, tone it down riles, his expression softened slightly as his eyes flickered towards the warlocks raised hands. “That’s pretty cool,” he started, “Definitely sounds like you’re onto something.” Casually crossing his arms across his chest, Riley tilted his head to the side as he listened to Raylan speak, knowing that the brightest warlock in the coven probably wouldn’t be fooled by false signs or bursts. “The fruits are a nice touch” Riles agreed, his eyes flickering towards the soft sound of footsteps, “Nigel, what do you think of this?” Riley called out, his eyes darting back to Raylan.

“Can we do anything to help?”

Wizard Entrance, Guardian’s Home Riley, Nigel
“Thank you, I appreciate that.” Raylan thanked, a relaxed smile tucked on his face. He gave a soft laugh at Riley’s comment, looking down at the fruit basket with a gentle sigh. He’s still nervous about the possible wizards but from Riley’s words, Raylan felt a bit more at ease. “Thank you, Riles.” He thanked again, meaning it before turning to Nigel.

He gave a polite bob in greeting, pausing and examining Nigel’s features until he’s able to remember the guardian’s name and the witch he is bound to. “Good morning, Nigel.” Raylan greeted, shifting the fruit basket in a hidden gesture that they’re both free to take one. He glanced back at Riley. “Well for one, I’m going to need to get Brie. And I have to speak it over with my sister and the others... We may have to split into pairs to evaluate the sites quicker and more casually, to avoid attention.” Raylan paused, racking his brain for anything else to add. He looked down squinting at the floor. “And maybe a pair to stand guard here, just in case the... blackhearts find our location and drag assassins to it.” Raylan tilt his head up again, widening his eyes and glancing at between the two guardians.

Assassin Leader Counter, Voodoo Jeremiah, Tori
His eyes flicked back to Tori, examining her behaviour and build. He can’t say he’s not surprised, if anything the woman had a fiery red hair and looks like she would rather tear somebody’s head off than date someone like Jeremiah, a tad bit of a flirt if he says so himself. He turned back to Jeremiah, staring hard at him but still held a friendly smile nevertheless. Aaro knows he a capable individual bright with talent, and he trust the assassin well. Besides what’s he to say about dating? He never seen or knew a couple up close besides his parents and they’re usually professionally and polite in his presence. “Complete your tasks before busying yourself with candlelit dates.’ He thought, amused.

“I rather take Rosa or Cameron with me, they helped me a whole lot better at these topics.” He leaned forward on the counter, staring at Jeremiah with a laidback posture. “Let’s try and get it done today.” He smiled even more, a hint of sinister and mischief hidden beneath the playful expression. Why wait when they have a bright day today? After all, they have the almanac’s knowledge in their grasp. The opportunities unfolding are just too ripe to not take them up.

chaos left the kitchen & calmly
climbed up the steps to his own set of suites
in the guardian manor. throwing open the carved
beechwood doors, he was greeted by the pale
rays of sunshine streaming in from the floor-to-
ceiling length windows & the sight of his imma-
culate bed between two well lit nightstands.

reaching in to grab the travel bag he always kept
at the ready, he paced over to the dresser carved
with tiny gold tendrils and slid a single brass key over
an almost invisible keyhole, revealing a drawer full
of hunting tools. selecting two sturdy daggers, he
twirled them around before slipping them in his
    pockets.

making sure his wallet was stuffed to the brim
"because who knows what those girls might just buy,"
he thought, he finally sauntered over to the witches'
front door and tapped his foot patiently. first came
genevieve, with a style so striking he could hardly
comment on her unusually... unique fashion sense!
after a minute of tardiness a heaving eawyn
finally graced them with her presence, as he grumbled
as much, before escorting the two squealing ladies
to the pavement with a shallow bow.

Sliding on a pair of jeans, converse and a simple white t-shirt, Eawyn grabbed her tanned slip wallet and sunglasses before she met up with Chaos and Gen outside. A grateful smile on her lips as she playfully jumped off the last step, landing with ease. “I think I’ve got just enough room for some of those choc-caramel swirls we can pick up from the markets, are you guys hoping to find any goodies?” She asked, glad they were getting out of the house and returning to a somewhat normal lifestyle. As much as she enjoyed magic and its many comforts, the idea of having a mundane day without the looming threat of death and doom was extremely appealing.

Running a gentle hand through her hair and brushing a few stray strands out of her face, the witch slowly began walking in the direction of the markets “Gen, you were right! This weather is perfect!”

      ━━━━━━━━━JEREMIAH

Rosa or Cameron? The blackhearts probably had a better chance at tracking the last coven members and their corresponding guardians possibly better than either of anyone, after all magic does attract magic. “Far enough, I guess I’ll catch you later, I've got to get back to studying” Remy replied as he finished off the rest of his much-needed coffee. Swinging his hand around the side of the counter, he skillfully threw the recyclable cup into the recycling bin. “Time for this brain to get to work.” He muttered, shooting his boss a playful wink as he pushed himself off the counter, his hazel eyes focusing on Victorie as his feet b-lined towards her table.

How long had it been since he had last since her angelic face? It felt like a few years, maybe, he wasn't sure. An odd sense of nervousness nibbled at the nape of his neck as he slid into the chair opposite the fiery woman. His eyes softened as a gentle smile curved his lips upwards, what a peculiar situation. If he mentioned her name, his colleagues may become suspicious due to its appearance in the guardian almanac. But if she was here, then he guessed her bonded wasn’t too far away. “If I knew you were in the area I would have reached out a lot sooner Tori.”

the red-haired guardian took a few moments of silence before her phone buzzed and so she opened her eyes and picked it up. a smile graced her face as she read the reply from eawyn. we? who was we? ‘who are you going with? xx’ tori typed as she then pressed the send button. she hoped it was with another guardian at least although a slight pang of guilt washed over her quickly but that soon dissolved when who should come and sit in front of her....none other than jeremiah. her amber-brown eyes stared at him with slight shock desperate to hide the emerging sadness. what did he want? “hello to you too jeremiah. i suppose i should have seen this coming, seeing you in the place we met.” she simply replied as she finished off her latte. if her ex was in town - who unfortunately happened to be an assassin- than perhaps that meant that his gang was also here? victorie’s eyes flicked round the cafe quickly as she suddenly became very attentive and alert. where there was one assassin there was usually another. was jeremiah a distraction? to keep her busy while the other one planned his or her attack? remy you traitor, you must have told the other assassin’s what I was. she thought, unconsciously balling her hands up as she returned her gaze to the assassin siting on the other side of the table.

coming here was so stupid and viki was beginning to regret it......but was she? was she really? maybe somewhere deep deep down in her subconscious where she’d locked all her broken feelings and memories, there was a part of her that wanted to see him again. just look at him. his smug symmetrical face. his hazel eyes gleaming hypnotically. it was things like these that made her fall for him in the first place, that and of course his charming, sweet personality. oh come on tori! get a grip. im sure that was something he just put on to get close to a guardian. she thought mentally kicking herself for everything. averting her gaze, victorie tried to focus on something other than jeramiah. a strand of her red hair fell over her face and she lifted a hand to position it back behind her ear. “is there even any point in me asking you what you’re doing back here?” she finally said giving a mere glance his way.

Genevieve took a deep breath, the cool breeze passing by. Geez, she missed this! Gen couldn’t remember the last time she went out with friends... Her cheeks reddened, hoping that they wouldn’t mind her thinking of them that way. Even when she hid away, everyone invited her and made her feel welcomed. In a way, leaving home was one of the best things that happened to her. “Choc-caramel swirls?” She questioned, wondering what the market had in store for them. Maybe, just maybe they had her favorite sweets! “Not really... What about you, Chaos?” Yes, Gen lied a little, but she had brought only a few dollars. If she had her way, they’d be coming back with a bag full of junk food and regret. As Eawyn commented on the weather, she hurried up to match the girl’s pace. “What do you want to check out first?” She asked, tying her hair up in a ponytail.

Nigel raised his eyebrows towards Raylan, looking between Riley and him for an answer. “Think of..?” It didn’t take long for Raylan to greet him- sadly he still wasn’t acquainted with many of the witches and wizards. Hopefully, starting today, that would change. “Morning, Raylan.” As the boy continued on, it finally hit him. Ah! New information... Doesn’t seem to be good. Raylan gave off an uneasy vibe- hopefully, it wasn’t too dire. “I’d happily stay here if needed.” Nigel smiled, crossing his arms across his chest.
