Camilo Eldenwood - form - life dragon - 20 years - (dorm 4C); location: dorm elevator → outside - tags: Ezekiel, NexCamilo watched curiously as Nex grabbed Ezekiel’s arm as he tucked him into the elevator with them, wondering what their relationship was. They seemed friendly enough with each other, but were still speaking a bit formally and didn’t seem to know some things about each other. The dragon concluded that they were perhaps just classmates- especially since a glance to the kelpie told him that he didn’t really expect the movement either. Ah well, it wasn’t a huge deal, and now they were moving towards the ground floor.
At Ezekiel’s comment the green-haired man nodded. “Perhaps I should look for a book about magic architecture or something when we get to the library.” He mused aloud, the edges of his eyes crinkling in amusement. As he attention was mostly directed to studying the walls and the rest of the elevator as it moved, his attention was brought back to his companions when he heard a concerned tone. Turning his head back, he noticed what Ezekiel was talking about. Although Camilo had originally thought of the sentient shadow as simply being a bit of a nuisance, seemed to have a genuinely malicious vendetta with its owner- and sadly, Nex seemed used to it.
“Hey. Stop being a pest or we’ll shine a light on you.” The dragon threatened the 2-dimensional shape, attempting to use his own shadow to smack at the other one’s hands. He wasn’t sure if it would work, but they’d be outside soon enough anyway. Looking back to Nex, Camilo’s eyes softened a bit and shook his head. “Mm, no worries, we could always use light or darkness to make it go away, right? Unless there’s more to this shadow than meets the eye. If anything, you seem to have the short end of the stick in this situation.” The college student observed, glancing towards the door as it opened to reveal a familiar-looking entryway.
He stepped forward, keeping an eye on the rogue shadow that was with them in case it tried to cause any more trouble. “If anything, we can see how the thing likes the sunlight.” The dragon’s eyes narrowed a bit, the thoughtful grin never leaving his face. “Maybe it’ll be like a cat and spray bottle of water type of situation, only you’ll need to start carrying around a flashlight or something.” He attention then switched back to the quietest of the three, trying to figure out how he was feeling. Ezekiel’s tone had been sharper before, and if he needed a breather then Camilo would do what he could to help. Given what Nex had said before about his shadow, the dragon also reached out an arm to anyone concerned with the potential tripping side-effect. “Maybe there’s something about misbehaving shadows in the library too- who knows,” he suggested.
Cyril Asterlapse - form - 17 years - (dorm 3B); location: academy yard - tags: Zephyr, TanwenCyril raised an eyebrow a bit at the way in which Zephyr was now looking at him, almost like he had something to say or ask about, but as he restrained himself Cyril’s eyes moved back to Tanwen and Zephyr sharing their similarities. The unicorn didn’t care to interrupt or add anything to that conversation- he was curious about other supernaturals’ circumstances, of course, but his own was quite different from them. He had been born to two influential unicorns that had a reputation for having powerful restoration abilities- and strong expectations for him to continue that reputation. Cyril stared at the ground at the thought, his hands subconsciously balling into fists upon recalling the pressure. He was glad to have been able to run away from that at least for a little while, but it was only a matter of time before someone found him again and he’d lose the chance to learn other forms of magic.
He was brought out of his haze when Zephyr commented about his lack of last name, and, with a ghost of a grin on his face, he responded. “Nah, ‘Just’ was my father. Call me Cyril. Last name Asterlapse.” He added the missing information from before but shifted his focus back to the present conversation.
“This is a first for me too, although I have met some other kinds of supernaturals. Quite a few unicorns with family and family friends, and two of my closer friends back home were a selkie and a hippogryph.” He recalled while peering curiously at Tanwen’s wings. “Witches and shifters… I’ve heard of them but haven’t met any myself. They seem quite welcoming from the sound of it.” He commented, a smile finally gracing his features. “And yeah, that makes sense. I hope we’ll recognize either other in them- although given that we know what we all are, I imagine it’d be easy enough.” Cyril looked back down to his legs, which were already in their shifted form. Maybe it would be more productive for him to try to perfect his human form first before parading around as a unicorn.
At the mention of classes, Cyril couldn’t help his ears from flicking curiously. “Ah, I guess it’d make sense for both of you to take flight. Not sure how well that’d work for me given that I’m literally grounded, but it sure sounds fun. Oh, and I’m also taking elemental magic! And weaponry. I’m not… all that familiar with either, but I’m hoping I can improve.” His arm raised as he scratched the back of his neck. At the mention of archery, the unicorn’s eyes seemed to sparkle a bit. “Ohh, that sounds so cool! I’m sure you could do it in your free time. I’d love to watch if you don’t mind, and in return… I mean, I just said I wasn’t too familiar with the classes you’re taking so I wouldn’t be able to help with those, but maybe I could heal you or something if you need it?” He offered, bumming himself out a bit at his lack of bargaining chips.
In an effort to distract himself from it, he turned his attention back to the Phoenix. “Are you taking another elective along with flight? It seems like you’ve got some more experience here than either of us do…” he trailed off, curious about the other’s experience thus far.
