Akachi grew up within a facility known as Sun's Edge. It was within this facility that abandoned viscets were raised and trained to protect the neighboring city. Within this city, an experiment was taking place among humans. It was locked within a dome with holograms on the roof to keep the civilians from knowing and was set in a post-apocalyptic theme. Like ants, they dug ten foot deep winding trenches whos walls were the entrances to homes and buildings. To keep them in check, soldier viscets were used to keep the peace and eliminate anyone who causes trouble or breaks the laws. Akachi was to be one of these viscets.

She was raised in a group with ten other visclings, all bearing brown in their manes as a trademark for their group. She would follow them through the routine, going into a white room where a pps viscet hardened with the mind of a brutal soldier would communicate with them. Her first memory of this viscling was when they first showed up. Everyone was fairly nervous, but one seemed to be more terrified than the rest. He cowered from every shadow and whimpered at every sound. When the pps arrived, it's eyes locked onto the trembling viscling. It approached him without hesitation, put its paws on its head, and- Akachi couldn't watch. The pps made an example through that viscling that day. No cowards allowed, all trembling pipsqueaks will be killed on spot. That was the day that Akachi began to harden herself, putting walls up to disguise her emotions and hide them from the keen eye of the pps, the enemy.

When she had grown up, she moved on with those who remained, five out of the original ten. On the outside, she was cold and cruel, deathly silent but with a frozen glare in her eyes that could petrify one's very soul. Inwardly however, her mind raced. She scouted for a way out in every opportunity, listening carefully to the words of the conductors, watching the fences for any flaws, the walls for any chips. After three years within the facility, she found her escape. The night before, a viscet had snapped, ran for the gates and began to dig under. It was wiggling out when they grabbed its tail and dragged it back in. It was killed publicly that day, used as an example to convince others that escaping is futile. Akachi's group was then assigned to repair the fence. It was as though her escape was being handed to her on a silver platter. The only thing to worry about was her group. The other five viscets were fiercely loyal and would likely tear into her if she should even make one move to it. So, she made a plan. She went to her group early and told them that she had a meeting with the conductor and would not be able to make it to the repair. They accepted her absence and she left. Once out of their sight, she started to run. She was stopped three times, each time by a viscet eyeing her suspiciously and asking her what she was doing, to which she would respond with that she was late and had to run and help her group repair. It worked every time. Once outside, she broke out into a sprint, knowing that there was no sense in hiding it. In no time three viscets were on her tail. She ran as quickly as she could, then dove. Luckily for her, the viscet the day before was larger than her, and thus she was able to slip through the hole with ease before sprinting away while the viscets struggled to go out one at a time.

She traveled for three days until she finally found a decent cave for rest. She knew that the others had stopped pursuing her long ago, as if they were to leave the gate at a specific distance they would be killed as well, no matter the reason. She walked into the cave and flopped down, relieved and exhausted and she promptly fell asleep. She woke up a few hours later to a viscet shouting at her. Instantly her fur stood on end and she began to rise quickly, but was knocked to the ground with incredible force as the top of the cave collapsed on her. The last thing she was a large rock falling and colliding with her head, sucking her back into the darkness again.

It was dark, and cold. There was no sound and no surroundings. It felt like she was floating. It would have been comforting, if it weren't for the cold. It chilled her to her bones, caused her skin to shiver uncontrollably. I looked around, her blue eyes scouring the darkness for something, anything. She turned her head sharply to a small light which grew faster and faster. She felt nervous and curious, watching it with squinted eyes as it approached. Then, her eyes shot open as shards of ice rushed to her and collided with her, freezing her solid.

She woke with a headache, but no pain. She was in a den on some make-shift bed. A viscet with wings stood beside her in silence. When it noticed her, it spoke softly, telling her not to move and that several bones were broken, but she did not listen. She sat up, feeling no pain, and stood. The viscet backed up quickly, clearly confused by her ability to stand. She followed it, squinting as the light pressed against her eyes. At the sight of her, white viscet ran over and tried to obsess over her, but she just brushed past. At contact, the white viscet made a remark about her being cold, but Akachi couldn't feel anything. She turned to them and asked in a firm voice, questioning where she was.

After a few days within the pack, Amaris approached her. She had come back from being lost in a snow storm and was holding a bag, looking fairly distraught. She asked her to hold the bag for her and Akachi agreed, taking it then watching her sprint off to help someone. She stood in silence for a moment, holding the bag patiently until curiosity began to take over. She looked down at an egg, its shell gleaming with frost which branched from the spot that her paws touched. Her eyes widened and she screamed for help. Amaris ran back and took the egg out of the bag, then proceeded to panic. Akachi stumbled to the side as the whole pack gathered together to warm up and save the egg as quickly as they could, but Akachi knew that permanent damage would be done. By some miracle, they saved the egg and it hatched a few weeks after, but Akachi's fear was true. Because of the frost, the viscling was pps, permanently a child and unable to grow.

It was that day that Akachi came one step closer to figuring out what happened to her between the time of the cave collapsing and when she woke up in the den. She now had frost which formed from whatever she touched with her paws. The more emotion she felt, the more frost there was, and it could build up until it became ice, which it would then rise up in jagged, terrifying spikes that could pierce the skin. Akachi practices this in private, if another should intrude during this she will promptly claim that she is working on ice sculptures and dismiss the viscet. She is not kind to strangers, always fearing that one may be from Sun's Edge, coming back to kill her for escaping. She is always tense and nervous and will grow even more so if someone should mention frost to her, particularly in summer.
