And we have the return of those evil, evil cats. Those of you who have been following the comic closely should know who those two sabres are. They have appeared before. That last panel is supposed to be sort foreshadowing things. I hope it came across that way.

The reason why that one eye is closed is because that eye is missing. In one of the earlier pages (like waaay earlier) it shows that very sabre with blood running dow his face coming from a closed eye. He's not winking, just keeping a useless hole in his head closed xD.
