Well, there's two reasons, but I was mainly exiled for the second.
First, Marcasite isn't really a gem. Pyrite is used to imitate Marcasite, and is sold under the name "Marcasite".
Second, my mother, and Pyrite's as well, betrayed the Tribe, running away to join Obsidian's clan, which doesn't get along with my erstwhile tribe. They found proof I was going to go with my mother, which is true. I didn't know until my mother told me why she was leaving, and then I left her. The Tribe considered me gone for good, so I never returned.
